Trump to Hillary: You're a sad, desperate, failure. Stop lying about my immigration stance!

I don't know where you stand on Donald Trump. Maybe you love him, maybe you hate him. Maybe you think he's a shill candidate or a shameless self-promoter who doesn't really care about the race at all. Maybe, as the boss wrote earlier, you think that's all true to varying degrees. Wherever you fall on the Trump opinion spectrum, there's one thing you can't deny. His bombastic take-no-prisoners attitude is certainly "# up" the race. In fact, whether he really believes it or not, he's probably saying a lot of things you've said time and time again. The case in point is his infamous - though essentially correct - comments about illegals flooding into the U.S. from Mexico. In case you forgot, he said:
“They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”
Never mind that he wasn't talking about legal immigrants, and ignore the fact that he was discussing the Mexican government's efforts to export the worst of its citizenry. That level of nuance is beyond Democrats and their media allies. The pile-on was instantaneous and reached a crescendo two days ago when Hillary started carping:
"It was appalling to hear Donald Trump describe immigrants as drug dealers, racists and criminals. He’s talking about people you and I know. He’s talking about people who love this country, work hard and want nothing more than a chance to build a better life for themselves and this country. When people and businesses everywhere rejected his hateful comments, did he apologize? No, he doubled down… I have just one word for Donald Trump: Basta! Enough!"
The problem is that Trump isn't a guy who turns his back on a fight - no matter how ludicrous it might be. He doesn't slink away. Jab Trump and he goes to war.

Yesterday, he issued a blistering reply on his Facebook page. In it, he describes Hillary as a sad, desperate, scandal-ridden failure. In other words, he describes her with 100% accuracy. It's exactly the kind of epic slam you wish a parade of mealy-mouthed GOP candidates had delivered to Mrs. Clinton years ago:
Failing candidate Hillary Clinton, who is desperately trying to hold on to her lead in the democratic primary against Bernie Sanders, is knowingly putting out lies about my stance on illegal immigration. I said “Mexico is sending”— I’m not knocking immigration or immigrants, but rather am very critical of the country of Mexico for sending us people that they don’t want. Likewise I am very critical of illegal immigration and the tremendous problems including crime, which it causes. She is desperate, she is sad, and she is obviously very nervous when she has to revert to issues that have already been settled given the absolute accuracy of my statement. She speaks about “my tone” and that’s the problem with our country’s leaders. They are more worried about tone than results! It’s not about being nice— it’s about being competent. Hillary should spend more time producing her illegally hidden emails and less time trying to obfuscate a statement by me that is totally clear and obviously very much accepted by the public as true. I am honored, however, that she is attacking me, instead of Jeb Bush. Obviously she knows that JEB is no longer her real competition. The last person she wants to face is Donald Trump.
Like I said before, I don't know how you feel about Trump. Heck. I'm not sure how I feel about him. All I'll say is this... Good God it's refreshing to watch a would-be politician bring this kind of blunt, fiery, heat to the opposition. If they're interested in learning it, there's a lesson here for the rest of the GOP's namby-pamby field: Your base - the people without whom you can't get elected - want to see a fighter. They're sick to death of the polite, genteel, kid gloves offered by the McCains, Bushes, and Romneys of the party. If nothing else, Trump proves they're willing to overlook an awful lot of faults if you show a little chutzpah.
