Democrats so panicky over Hillary that their bright fresh face for 2016 is ...Al Gore?

If you're a high-powered member of a party whose "inevitable" candidate is an untrustworthy liar and the subject of an FBI investigation, you're understandably nervous. If you're smart, you're searching for alternatives. Unfortunately, your bench consists of nothing but uninspiring, elderly, white socialists. So what do you do?

You bring in a sharp, young, and most importantly "fresh" face. Someone, perhaps, like Al Gore. (video below) Wait, what? Yes, it's apparently true. Despite the fact that Al Gore is yet another in the Dems' long line of antiquated, largely-irrelevant, throwbacks, there are rumblings of "Gore 2016." As ABC News reports:

A one-time high-ranking political adviser to Al Gore tells ABC News that a group of friends and former aides are having a "soft conversation" about the possibility that Gore run for president in 2016. The adviser cautions that there have been no formal or even informal moves by Gore himself -– but that the former vice president has not ruled out anything. This was first reported by BuzzFeed.

Gore has, so far, thrown cold water on the idea - claiming he's maintaining a "laser like focus" on his cash cow global warming crusade. Still, this is clearly some sort of trial balloon. How serious are these attempts to "massage" Gore's aspirations? Who knows? The bottom line is that the Democrats are terrified of the almost-certain disaster that "candidate Clinton" would be. They're seeking any port in a storm, and - like Joe Biden - Al Gore is, apparently, a port. P.S. If you're not terrified at the prospect of a 2016 "Bush vs. Gore" election, you're probably not human.
