Dem. Senator & Hillary supporter: There's really no policy difference between Hillary and Bernie Sanders

You'll probably recall that, about a month ago, Chris Matthews managed to completely stump Debbie Wasserman Schultz with one simple question. "What's the difference between a Democrat and a Socialist?"

Debbie was completely dumbfounded. She stammered a bit, tried to deflect, and failed - completely - to offer any substantive difference. If you need a refresher, here's that clip: Shortly after that exchange, she was interviewed by Chuck Todd. Again, she was asked to explain the difference between Democrats and Socialists. Once again, she failed to offer a complete response - instead, she deflected the question with a meandering attack on the GOP. These were telling moments in which the head of the Democrat Party was basically admitting what we've all known for years: It's impossible to explain the difference between a Democrat and a Socialist, because none exists. Now, we have a sitting Democrat Senator offering us confirmation of that simple fact. Meet Sen. Amy Klobuchar, a Democrat and the Senior Senator from Minnesota. She's pro-Hillary, but she faced an awkward moment on Morning Joe when she admitted that there's really no policy difference between Mrs. Clinton and Bernie Sanders: Now, if you're reading a political website, that won't come as any great surprise. The Democrats spent much of the last five decades destroying or uprooting any member who'd object to their obvious socialist agenda. Meanwhile, their base drifted farther and farther to the left. You're already aware that they are the party of modern socialism. However, if you're Hillary Clinton, it puts you in a tough spot. Sanders may be a crazy ol' coot, but no one doubts that his opinions are deeply and honestly held. If Hillary's policies are essentially the same as her closest rival, and her base is desperate to vote for anyone who isn't bogged down in scandals and trust issues, what can she do? Remember, Sen. Klobuchar is a Hillary supporter. How can Mrs. Clinton possibly hope to stave off a challenge if her own boosters can't identify a legitimate difference between her and a challenger who's actually trusted?
