If you are listening to many financial experts, preachers and culture watchers, September and October promise to be from hell. Wall Street watchers hint at bigger trouble down the road. Many financial experts predict economic collapse and war. Bible prophesy sentinels say Elul 29 (September 13, 2015) is the end of a seven year cycle (Shemitah), a time when most major financial corrections take place. The conclusion of a tetrad (four consecutive blood moons) on September 28, 2015 coinciding on Jewish holidays, forecast a coming doomsday scenario. Some internet sites even predict that an asteroid, on its present path, will hit earth on September 24, 2015. NASA, of course, is unaware of any asteroid or comet that is currently on a collision course with our planet.
There is no denying that change is in the air, an uneasy feeling, a perception of confusion rather than order. Youtube has no shortage of videos that teach survival. TV commercials and ads to buy gold and silver or survival food are everywhere. Financial experts promise security in an insecure world.
With the latest polls showing 71% of Americans feeling dissatisfaction with the direction this country is going, it is no wonder many people are preparing for something but have no idea what to expect.
Since the vast majority of people believe in a Supreme Being and that God is involved in the affairs of men and women, do we listen to what He has to say or do we continue to go against the grain? Do we really believe we can change one’s gender? Do we really think by changing God’s definition of marriage we can change the world for better? Do we deny nature as we have denied the laws of economics for which we are about the see the results? Do we serve one another or insist on being served? Has our arrogance reached, may I say, Biblical proportions?
I believe these signs are not predictors of doom but warnings of what CAN be. God has given us the ultimate power, the power to choose. We can choose life or choose death. Not just physical death, but death within ourselves. A world of darkness.
To what shall we look forward? Life or death? We can alter any doomsday scenario by simply changing direction, changing our minds and hearts. Since God does not change His mind, then we must change ours.
