Trump: Love Him or Hate Him, but Let Him Be

Donald Trump entered the presidential elections scene, just like any other candidate: with his right to free speech, right to equitable treatment and liberty of ideas.
While media bias and disrespect for free speech constitute a saddening tendency, Trump simply exercises his rights, reminding we the people how it should be done in a free country. Do you love Trump? Do you hate him? Well, people have the right to vote –so get over it and let him be. Donald Trump is a stand-up guy, not a stand-up comedian, and the attempts to portray him as “funny” are both pathetic and boring. Present administration has proved over the last few years their dedication to the social manipulation strategies which echo Ingjald Nissen’s definition of “the master suppression techniques”, and it would be nice to give us a break during the elections. The domination techniques such as ridiculing, double bind (punishing and belittling), making invisible, objectifying and coercion are ways to indirectly suppress and humiliate opponents; used constantly and blatantly, they become a very obvious form of a very unfair and primitive political game. Questioning, breaking the pattern and putting cards on the table, for which many people like Trump, happen to be the best countermeasures against domination techniques, so the candidate’s foes are visibly opting for more creative ways to “suppress” him.

When Mr.Trump announced his top priorities as a president would be “the military, the Veterans, and the jobs” the propaganda hell broke loose and “We tell you the Vets hate Trump” campaign followed. Why would the top priorities of a candidate be even questioned? The criticism could be due if a member of the present administration who did nothing for our Veterans came up with new hypocritical promises. Why wouldn’t Trump deserve the benefit of the doubt given to Obama who, by the way, was to end the Veterans' homelessness in 2015 and “still has some time left”? Inviting a selected group of “anti-Trump Veterans” to voice their opinion brings to mind the ugly habit of Obama’s administration: presenting their views “on behalf of the majority”. What’s more, Trump’s remarks about McCain were served in a biased pre-masticated form as “outrageous”. We could talk about an “equitable treatment” only if “other kind” of Veterans (including our Native American heroes), who have reasons to respect Trump and to dislike McCain were invited to voice their opinions too. People who like criteria of General Patton: “I don’t measure a man’s success by how high he climbs but how high he bounces when he hits bottom” will logically like Trump, and it’s their right to hope that he will be following yet another of General’s principles: ”Do your damnedest in an ostentatious manner all the time”. The smear campaign crossed the borders and subordinately seems to be carried by the left wingers abroad. Voltaire used to say “I do not agree with what you have to say, but I’ll defend to death your right to do it”. Well, he would be very disappointed with French “Libération” offering “decryptage “of Donald Trump by calling him among others names: “un complotiste delirant” (a delusional conspiracy nut), “le raciste invetere” (incorrigible racist),le connard laque (varnished idiot), l’egotiste vantard (boastful egotist) and le menteur compulsif (compulsive liar). Liberation also underlines that Trump has habit of insulting people... Hillary Clinton benefits from a very different treatment and is always warmly welcomed by friends such as Laurent Fabius, the Minister of Foreign Affairs who, by the way, closely cooperated with her following the events in Benghazi. During Clinton’s visit (Paris, 07/07/2014), Fabius said: “I know that a few years ago there was a magazine cover, I believe it was “Time Magazine”, with your photo and two ballot boxes: one “love her” and a different one. Here, there is only the first box. And we know that the best is yet to come”. No comments? Definitely not: “thinking outside the box”. How about “Et voila, une affaire classée!” If some opponents may think that taking away Trump’s right to present himself would be the simplest and the greatest idea, it would also be an official statement proving that the U.S.A has neither the free speech, nor true presidential elections anymore. John Kennedy said: Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable” and it would be good to remember that the moderately happy or unhappy people want to vote, but the fed up and angry people want to elect.
