Boehner's exit is not enough; we need to see some serious Republican mojo

In golf a par is good, but a birdie is better. In baseball a single, double or triple is good, but a home run is great! In football a first down, or a few first downs are good, but a touchdown is great. Contrary to what some people think, it's going to take more than Speaker John Boehner's resignation for the Republicans in Congress to show their supporters some results. It doesn't have to be a series of birdies, home runs, or touchdowns politically speaking. They just have to accomplish something that Main Street USA can appreciate and be optimistic about. For example, we know you do not have the votes to override a presidential veto of repealing ObamaCare, but pass a series of measures to gut the terrible law and force him to veto them. The Cadillac tax, the medical device tax, the minimum coverage requirement, and even the employer mandate would force the Democrats and the president to be on the defensive over a law that's not working anyway!

Doing some or all of those things to gut ObamaCare would help us hang in there in this stalled economy, which the Democrats want people to believe is the new normal. No it's not! We are better than that, as I have said before. The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) is trying to change regulations to destroy the franchisor/franchisee relationship, which has helped to create millions of jobs and thousands of successful businesses. A law passed by Congress could stop that nonsense, as well as laws to reign in an EPA on steroids. Both agencies are on a massive power-grab mission. Even though the House is supposed to control the federal budget, we continue to hear that the runaway spending is due to non-discretionary programs. What about clamping down on the waste, fraud and abuse in programs that are discretionary? This nonsense is documented every year and nothing happens. Pass a law where someone can be fired if they do not do their job, or worse yet, abuse it. That's what happens to those of us paying the tab! I believe what Planned Parenthood is doing with fetal baby parts is sickening and atrocious, and it should not be funded by the federal government. But all we hear is what you can't do short of a government shutdown. Maybe so, but we know it's not that simple. There are dozens of other things the Republicans can do to make us feel they are fighting and at least in the game for us. We know the Democrats don't care about the people, but we need to see more from the Republicans that they do care. Show us some signs! We need to see some pars, hits, and first downs. We can't wait fifteen months for a Republican president, and hope you still have majorities in both house of Congress. We have already seen from the Democrats that hope is not a strategy. It's just a narrative to get votes from gullible people. That doesn't work with informed voters. We need to see some mojo!
