By Day’s End it was Politico and not Carson backing out of The Lie

You’d think by now that watching the proficiency in the ‘Fine Art of Lying’ of their Democrat heroes like Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton that the rubes over at Politico would know better than to be caught in their lies. But they did get caught. Proof of the lies of Politico can be readily seen in how they changed their headline before scaling back on their ‘Ben Carson’s an admitted liar’ story.
The public, lied to on a routine basis by their own government, is now wise to the Pretorian Guard media that lies as readily as their government masters do. With the Democrats and mainstream media now in rife competition for chairmanship of the ‘Liar’s Club’, someone should come up with a ‘Whopper of the Year’ grand prize. Politico must have started out their day with big hopes of it being ‘The Day We Brought Ben Carson Down.’ Rush Limbaugh nails it for what it really is: “Friday, November Sixth is The Assassination Attempt of Ben Carson by the Media,’ adding “there is an electronic lynching being conducted against Carson.” With this November 8th making it one year before the 2016 presidential election, and Dr. Carson so high in the primary polls, the Dems were likely beating Politico’s door down, with a whining “Do something!” chant.

This time the lie didn’t make it halfway around the world before the truth--coming from the direction of the Daily Caller--got its pants on. “Now, it appears, Politico’s claim that Carson admitted to lying may have ironically proven to be a lie itself.” (Daily Caller, Nov. 6, 2015) “Politico has already begun to backtrack its explosive story accusing Ben Carson of lying about an acceptance to West Point, deleting its claim that Carson had confessed to “fabricating” his admission. “When it first published its story Friday morning, the Virginia-based blog aggressively declared that Carson had admitted to telling a big lie about his past. “Ben Carson’s campaign on Friday admitted … that a central point in his inspirational personal story was fabricated,” Politico’s story originally said. “Just hours later, though, this opening line was removed entirely and Politico’s accusation significantly scaled back. “Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson on Friday conceded that he never applied nor was granted admission to West Point,” the new lede says. While the difference may appear slight, the change is dramatic, as Carson is no longer accused of fabricating anything. “While the article includes a context-free acknowledgement that the story was “updated,” Politico has otherwise refused to admit to making the correction. “Politico’s original accusation has rapidly swept across the entire news cycle. “Carson Admits To Major Lie About His Background” was the headline at MSNBC, and similar titles appeared all over the web. “The Politico story is an outright Lie,” Carson spokesman Doug Watts told The Daily Caller News Foundation earlier Friday. In an interview with The New York Times, Carson described his offer of a spot at West Point as informal in nature. “It was, you know, an informal ‘with a record like yours we could easily get you a scholarship to West Point,'” Carson said. “Despite Politico’s claim that Carson had fabricated an application and acceptance to West Point, earlier statements by the candidate show that he’s readily admitted to never applying to West Point. During a Facebook Q&A session with voters last August, Carson said he got an “offer” from West Point, but also said that he chose to not apply to the school, indicating the offer was informal in nature.” Carson didn’t seem any the worse for wear tonight when he was interviewed by Mark Levin, who said :“This man doesn’t have to fabricate anything, he’s not Brian Williams, he’s not Barack Obama.” Carson was aware that the lib-left media scribes were scouring his past like ants on a sugar heap, for anything--anything-- they could use for a hit. “They (Politico and CNN hacks) are probably looking for my kindergarten teachers to see if I ever wet my pants,” Carson told Levin with his characteristic chuckle. Meanwhile, it is Politico and not Dr. Ben Carson who’s having to back out of the Big Lie. It didn’t work for Obama and it didn’t work for Clinton, but perhaps Politico should remember Sir Walter Scott’s advice in Marmion, 1808: “Oh what a tangled web we weave
When first we practice to deceive.”
