The UN History of the Palestinian People:From Arafat to Abbas

It is time to stand up and accuse the UN of Crimes Against Humanity-Jewish humanity. This organization, through its recommendations and resolutions encouraged and continues to encourage the terror taking place in Israel by Muslims against Jews. Their policies continue to condone these activities. Monday, November 23, Yitzhak Benhorin wrote in ynet news:

"Twenty resolutions are to be proposed at the meeting, including ones calling for the Palestinian right of return, placing responsibility for terror on Israel while disregarding the terrorism in Israel in recent weeks, and accusing Israel of changing the status quo at the Temple Mount compound...The decisions are expected to pass with an automatic majority based on Muslim and unaligned nations."

Six did. One resolution condemned the Jewish state for retaining the Golan Heights, demanding Israel hand it over to the Syrian regime. Another vote - which passed 153 to 7 - claimed that Israel has "no right" to "impose" its sovereignty over "the Holy City of Jerusalem." And so the crimes against the Jews continue. All of them approved by the United Nations. Part of a history of anti-Israel actions that can be traced from Arafat to Abbas via the Nazi Kurt Waldheim. In 1947 the United Nations recommended the creation of two new states with Resolution 181: from the partition of Palestine into Arab and Jewish states, with the city of Jerusalem as a corpus separatum (Latin: "separate entity") to be governed by a special international regime. The proposal passed with 33 votes in favour, 13 against, and 10 abstentions. Israel accepted the partition, the Palestinians did not. The Arab world attacked Israel and lost. Israel survived by the skin of her teeth having lost precious land including part of Jerusalem to Jordan. At that moment Resolution 181 became moot. Israel accepted statehood. The Arabs did not. There is no legally declared Palestinian Arab state. But that hasn't stopped the UN. As Salomon Benzimra pointed out in his article in American Thinker: "After losing several wars of aggression against Israel, the Arabs developed a new strategy. Rather than blustering about throwing the Jews into the sea, the Arabs introduced the "Palestinian people" to the world."

They were aided and abetted by the United Nations. In 1969 the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) passed Resolution 2535(B). For the first time the Arabs of Palestine were referred to as the "Palestinian people. " In other words the UN made up a "Palestinian people." From nothing- ex nihilo- into something. At that moment a newly created "people" taking on their so-called peoplehood from a name that had been given to a swath of land, became entitled to rights that had previously been available to indigenous peoples-like the Jews from Judea and Israel. These made-up people were now entitled to their "inalienable rights under the Charter of the United Nations." The reference to the Charter meant that the rights of this people included the right of "self-determination" (as per Art. 1[2]), thus defining the Palestinians as a colonial people and the PLO as a national liberation movement. In November 1970, the UN followed up with Resolution 2649, which strongly emphasized the right of self-determination in general and condemned those Governments that deny these rights, "especially [for] the peoples of southern Africa and Palestine" (Art. 5). It also affirmed the legitimacy of the struggle for self-determination "by any means at their disposal" (Art.1). And according to Benzimra "This implicitly gave carte blanche to the PLO to engage in terrorist operations, which they gladly conducted to foster the Palestinian cause." Multiple plane hijackings near Zarka in Jordan (September 1970), massacres at the Munich Olympics (July 1972) and in Ma'alot (May 1974), didn't stop the UN from inviting Yasser Arafat to address the UN on November 13, 1974 -in a session chaired by U.N. Secretary General Kurt Waldheim. Those of us old enough to remember can recall Arafat, a man small in stature and lacking in bravery, dressed as a soldier sporting his Keffiyeh and a pistol holster. He was no officer or gentleman. He didn't believe in Rules of Engagement. He was a coward leading an army of cowards who always target civilians-the older and the weaker, the better. He knew that he could never defeat the IDF in a real war. But the UN let him extol the virtues of "peace, justice, equality and freedom." The UN gave him carte blanche to attack the "Zionist entity" accusing Zionism of being an "ideology that is imperialist, colonialist and racist"; he branded Zionists as "terrorists...war criminals"; and he claimed the right of the PLO to "to establish an independent national state on all liberated Palestinian territory." Ten days later, the U.N. General Assembly signaled its broad support of Arafat's speech by passing the infamous Resolution 3236 reaffirming the "inalienable rights of the Palestinian people in Palestine ... their right to self-determination and their right to national independence and sovereignty over Palestine," as well as their "inalienable right to return to their homes and property from which they have been displaced and uprooted, and calls for their return." As Benzimra noted:

"In essence, it eradicated Israel, a member-state of the U.N., as an entity accused of crimes against international law because of its "aggression" against the "colonized" Palestinian people."

And then came the coup de grace, November 10, 1975 (passed on the 37^th anniversary of Kristallnacht) Zionism was declared racism. Arafat, his compatriots and their successors have been merely following "orders" by attacking Israelis, terrorizing the Jewish people. They were following through on the legitimacy of the struggle for self-determination "by any means at their disposal" (Art.1 of resolution 2649). The UN passed these resolutions under the leadership of Kurt Waldheim, Permanent Representative of Austria to the United Nations (1964-1968) fourth Secretary-General of the United Nations from 1972 to 1981. As reported in the New York Times, June 14, 2007:

"He was a lieutenant in army intelligence, attached to brutal German military units that executed thousands of Yugoslav partisans and civilians and deported thousands of Greek Jews to death camps from 1942 to 1944. Waldheim lied about his wartime service in the Balkans, maintaining that his military career ended in 1942 after he was wounded in a battle on the Russian front...Waldheim always asserted that he never had belonged to a Nazi-affiliated group. But, in fact, at the age of 19 he joined the National Socialist German Students League - a Nazi youth organization - just a month after the Anschluss. Then in November 1938, he enrolled in the SA, the paramilitary Nazi organization of storm troopers."

His lies were disputed not only by witnesses, photographs, medals and commendations given to him, but most importantly "by his own signature on documents linked to massacres and deportations." A lying Nazi as head of the UN gave Arafat a platform to spew his Jew-hatred and also presided over the affirmation of a fake people enabling them to attack the Jews in the Jewish state of Israel that had taken in the remnant of the Jews he and Hitler were not able to exterminate. Waldheim the Nazi was assisting Arafat a relative of the anti-semitic Nazi collaborator the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amin al-Husseini, an enthusiastic supporter for Hitler. Yasir Arafat began his career working for the Mufti after the war and would continue to praise him as late as 2002. According to Palestine fact.org

"Arab Muslims consider Haj Amin Al-Husseini not only as the man of the past but also the man of the present. He still is a role model for a number of groups of radical Muslims who have common views with him regarding Jews, West and the Sharia Law. He was one of the dearest friends Nazis had, who helped and got help from them in the times of war. One can say that Haj Amin was the father of Palestinian Arab nationalism and the only reason he is not revered as much in Palestine today is because 'he did not succeed in destroying the Jews and Israel'"

This is the man with whom Arafat identified. So much so that he found cause to claim the Grand Mufti [Amin al Husseini] of Jerusalem as his Uncle. Terrorism is spreading around the world while the UN, like the EU is constantly attacking Israel. Now we know why. Nazis enabled Arafat to be leader of a fake people and then gave him and the fake state impunity to kill Jews. And so it continues today.
