Moral and Political Values, Conservative Commentary and Action

- Maj. Gen. (Ret.) Paul Vallely and John Barnhart As a matter of practice, email is a very private thing and as Executive Editor of American Daily Review I would not normally publish the personal thoughts of someone else from their email on which I was copied. Even if it was simply to pass on what has all the makings of a good article.

But the very brief email exchange below got me to re-thinking my position just this once. The words expressed by General Vallely in the email he shared with a few well known conservative thinkers and writers motivated me to respond because the words were so genuine, open, true, and inspiring. And also because to a degree they reveal the sad evidence of where we are now as a country under weak, unsure leadership, versus where we were in the past under more positive and sure leadership such as that of Reagan, Teddy Roosevelt, etc. In publishing this it is our hope that others who share our genuine convictions of love of God, family, liberty, freedom, and America will read this brief exchange, become inspired in some small way and then stand up for America and start taking our country back, heart by heart, home by home, moment by moment, day by day, action by action. Thank you to General Vallely for his very kind permission to republish his thoughts from email. General Paul Vallely wrote the following;

Morality and Intellectual Elitists Do Not Mix Well in Today's Cultural Society!

"One of the main reasons confronting the solution to problems that we face today personally and politically is almost entirely due to a lack of common sense, psychological impediments to a clear value and tradition system, clear thinking, lack of personal discipline and self-control or some combination of all these. We know it is not because of the lack of brain power in our society. The fact is that many times the smartest and best educated (where are elitism seems to roost) in our society make things much worse. Intellectuals (those, of course with Graduate and Doctor's degrees) have among the worst record on the moral issues of the past century. You can see them articulate their liberal views daily on television and radio interviews, and in their writings and teachings in our schools. How many times have we heard today about our children and other offsprings being so bright and going off to the best schools and universities in the country or traveling abroad. We are proud when they go off to prestigious schools. There is certainly much preoccupation with this elite intellectual thrust placed upon our children mostly by parents. The 2008-2009 economic decline was brought about by people in the financial/Wall Street/Government sectors widely regarded as "brilliant", As it turns out, many of them are complete "dummies", amoral, incompetent and maybe all three. There is an apparent lack of common sense that prevails in this crowd. We sit back and watch and wonder to our ourselves, "How did we (America) get here from there." Had we hit the "snooze button?" The elitist have enjoyed splitting the people between "us" and "them". Certainly that is very apparent in Washington. We have become a morally bankrupt society making decisions not based on our Constitution, the moral values and traditions that built this country. Certainly not based on "Common Sense and Values". God Bless those today that have common sense and values. Their destiny is to Stand Up for America and pursue a future based on a solid foundation of morally decent people." The following was my response; "Great points as always General. Thankfully there are still millions in America who love, fear and respect God, and or who respect and revere the U.S. Constitution and are willing to stand up for it. My family and I (including my two adult age teens) are sick of the current morally and financially bankrupt status the country now finds itself in. President Obama in my humble opinion is just another individual who is the beneficiary of a morally bankrupt portion of our society which adores people who are"famous for simply being famous." They don't seem to realize that those of us who exercise our moral and constitutional compass on a regular basis see Barack Obama, Paris Hilton and others like them as "infamous for being infamous." Sadly, the society that adores them is shamefully so oblivious to what is good and right that they are no longer able to distinguish the difference. With Great Respect and Warmest Regards to all." If you share these beliefs and convictions... If you have the the conservative moral and political values that millions of Americans like General Paul Vallely have fought and sacrificed for and you want to do something but may not know where to start... Might I suggest that you start with his organization Stand Up America, or others like America Coast 2 Coast, the 912 Project, etc. and do your part to pitch in, take our country back and make a real difference in your community for the better of the entire country.
