5th Amendment—Then and Now

No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a grand jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the militia, when in actual service in time of war or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation. They funded leftist groups and established informants in intelligence agencies. That plan had to be developed since no country on this planet, especially Russia, thought we could be defeated militarily.

My Brother Taught Me A Lesson

I was blessed with two older brothers, and they were a few years ahead of me. I watched them often and learned a great deal that I didn’t have to learn on my own. From time to time however, they learned things the hard way. Their experiences affected my own. On one particular occasion the younger of my brothers gave me a lesson I’ve never forgotten.
