The Renewed Fight for Speaker: Essential, Not Incidental

October 2nd, 2023 is a date that will live in infamy for politicians who embrace big-spending, do-nothing status quo quiescence. Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-FL) filed a Motion to Vacate the Speakership of the House, and the motion passed the next day. Prior motions to vacate had been filed, and even voted on, but never succeeded until this year. This turn of events is unprecedented, and I submit all for the better.

Repeal Obergefell, Make Marriage (and America) Great Again

Last year, Congress voted to repeal the 1998 Defense of Marriage Act, thus installing some recognition of same-sex marriage in the federal code. More precisely, the legislation requires that all states recognize same-sex marriage licenses, although they do not have to issue them. Sadly, Republicans joined with all the Democrats to codify this travesty. What was also disturbing is that even the Republicans who voted against this bill sounded as though the fight to restore natural marriage, as well as federalism and natural law in our country’s jurisprudence, are not worth fighting for.

The INEquality Act: How We Got Here, and What We Do About It

For decades, United States Congressmen have become experts at false advertising in their legislative endeavors. The “No Child Left Behind” Act of 2001 left many children behind. Government fiat to fix education through regulatory reign would never balance or phase out achievement gaps. Schooling by standardized testing does not increase or improve learning, but certainly increased the budgets of government-run schools and the bank accounts of scholastic education firms and researchers. The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act? “If you like your doctor, your insurance plan, your health, etc., you can keep them.” Right? Need I say more: Congress loves to label bills to appeal—and deceive—the voting masses.

The Weekly Standard Lost its Standards

The Weekly Standard Lost its Standards The Weekly Standard, the neocon conservative periodical that went all kind of anti-Trump crazy, has closed up shop for good. The rumors had circulated for at least a week, and then Bill Kristol had to drop the news:

Election 2018: Mob Rule or the Rule of Law?

Election 2018: Mob Rule or the Rule of Law? From Congresswoman Maxine Waters to minority leader Nancy Pelosi, the Democratic Party’s Election 2018 game plan is “Annihilate. Destroy. KILL! KILL! KILL!” The rant comes from the warmongering general in the sci-fi spoof “Mars Attacks!” But you get the idea. The Democratic Party has embraced the mob mentality.

After Obama's Sad California Rally, Democrats Should Prepare for a Bad November

Obama in California The Democratic Party is banking on a blue wave for Election 2018. A few high-profile special elections have gone to Democrats, especially in red areas like Southern Pennsylvania and Alabama. Legislative seats throughout the country in historically red areas have gone blue as well. However, special elections differ significantly from normal primary and even general election turnouts. Republicans won a House seat in Hawaii during a special election in 2010. Republicans took back the house in the 2010 Tea Party Wave, but Democrats won their seat back.

The McCain Funeral Procession, Disgraced By the Media and Political Class

The McCain Funeral Procession, Disgraced By the Media and Political Class What is a eulogy? Strictly speaking, it's "a speech or piece of writing that praises someone, typically someone who has just died." The root of the word is "eulogia" from the Greek, which means "a good speech" or "to speak well of." More specifically, it's a funeral speech delivered in memory of the deceased. One would expect to hear a lively testimony in contrast to the dead lying in casket or bier before the living. The purpose of the speech is to restore to life, to bring greater meaning to a life which has departed.

Keeping American Families Together: LA County for Trump Counter-Protests

Keeping American Families Together: LA County for Trump Counter-Protests "Families Belong Together" is just another iteration of the George Soros, anti-American, anti-liberty Left looking for any excuse to shut down reasonable debate and destroy the United States from within. This protest culture is alive and well in the Los Angeles, just like across the rest of the country.

US Senator Mike Lee: The Best Pick to Replace Anthony Kennedy on SCOTUS

US Senator Mike Lee: The Best Pick to Replace Anthony Kennedy on SCOTUS Supreme Court Associate Justice Anthony Kennedy, the swing vote who would sway the court rulings pretty much any way he wanted, has announced his retirement. His departure has sparked incredible (wonderful!) panic from the left, and great elation from the right. But his retirement was long expected. Rumors swirled online and in print last year that he would step down after Justice Neil Gorsuch's confirmation.

The Plight of Our Border Patrol, Beyond Media Posturing and Politicking

The Plight of Our Border Patrol, Beyond Media Posturing and Politicking Protecting the homeland is the highest priority for our government, and the protectors of our homeland, the border patrol agents, deserve the highest respect. However, while the media plays up the pain and suffering of illegal alien parents placing their children in harm's way to break into the United States, the public hears very little about what our border law enforcement must face.

Ammon Bundy, the Abusive Federal Government, and the Fight for Our Rights

Ammon Bundy, the Abusive Federal Government, and the Fight for Our Rights Last month, the Siskiyou County (one of the northernmost in the state of California) Republican Women Federated and Yreka Tea Party invited me a second time to their wonderful State of Jefferson. The people there really care about our country and the state of California, but most importantly they will stop at nothing to protect their rights.

The Rodman Factor: Trump’s Historic Meeting with North Korea

The Rodman Factor: Trump’s Historic Meeting with North Korea After the Singapore summit between President Trump and North Korean Dictator Kim Jong-un, CNN news (?) anchor Chris Cuomo interviewed Dennis Rodman. Rodman had served as a de facto private citizen-ambassador to North Korea five times. He developed a friendship with the brutal Stalinist dictator, and that day he saw his efforts finally bearing out a slow but steady détente. The celebrity sensation, both on and off the basketball court, was sporting a MAGA hat, and was the ideal draw for a network which can't even make into the Top 25 ratings.

Another Strange Endorsement, or Trump vs. Trumpism in California

Another Strange Endorsement, or Trump vs. Trumpism in California A brief direct message on Twitter gave me the grave news I feared the most: President Trump endorsed John Cox, a Chicago-born businessman who carpet-bagged to California five years ago, for Governor of California. I am stunned, and it made me sick to my stomach. Full disclosure: I support Assemblyman Travis Allen for governor, the candidate who has been outspoken about his support for Trump and his agenda from the beginning.

"Dragon Energy" Kanye Goes MAGA: Democrats Don't Care About Black People

Dragon Energy Kanye Goes MAGA: Democrats Don't Care About Black People I haven't been a fan of Kanye West. I don't really care for rap. I didn't like the Rolling Stone cover which had featured him as some new aberration of Christ Jesus, either. Pretty arrogant stuff. He unfairly criticized President George W. Bush in off-hand, uninformed remarks following Hurricane Katrina's massive devastation in New Orleans: "President Bush doesn't care about black people." Those statements were unfair, to say the least.
