Where are the credible challengers to Barack Obama?

Like so many others, I have been watching the evolving political debacle unfolding in the U.S. in advance of the 2012 presidential election. And, like many other non-Americans, I am somewhat perplexed at how the game is played in that great country.

Come on, Jack, give voters the naked truth on that 1996 “massage”

So Jack Layton was found naked in a Toronto bawdyhouse, a.k.a. massage parlour, in 1996. Apparently Jack needed to relieve his stress and I suppose there is nothing like a good massage to do that. Unfortunately for Jack, he chose poorly when selecting the known bawdyhouse in Toronto’s seedy Chinatown. Jack, meanwhile, said from the campaign trail in British Columbia that nothing wrong happened. Okay. He also said it was all a smear campaign. Right.

Self-indulgent Media Obama-izing Smiling Jack

In case you haven’t noticed, Canada’s media outlets are trying to do for socialist Jack Layton, what the American media did for Barack Obama 2008. Get him elected. The fix was in when the contents of an obscure poll in Quebec showed Layton moving ahead of the Bloc Quebecois in popularity. Those polling numbers were soon dubbed a “surge.” You see “surge” is an action word. It has power.

Liberals must tell voters how their coalition would work

Well, well, well. Isn’t it telling that just after a few weeks of staunchly denying he had any intention whatsoever of climbing between the sheets with the separatist Bloc Quebecois and the New Democratic Party, Michael Ignatieff is now saying he is prepared to talk to both about forming a government in the event the Conservatives do not win a majority?

Quebec Separation: If you mention it, you’re fear mongering

In the dying weeks of the federal election campaign, the Quebec separatists are stomping through their baboon dance routines, arrogantly pounding their chests and proudly declaring exactly how they will tear Canada apart.

Ignatieff’s cannot rule without the separatists

Federal Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff has categorically denied he will cobble together a coalition with the Quebec separatists and the socialist New Democratic Party if he gets a chance to govern. I do not for one minute believe him.

Al Jazeera- a credible news alternative

Credibility is the lifeblood of any news organization. Here in North America we have a variety of outlets from which to choose our daily dose of celebrity fluff disguised as newsworthy events. The latest is the inane or rather insane buffoonery of Charlie Sheen making all the newscasts across the continent. How relevant is that?

Corrupt MSM will reap what it has sown

John Ziegler’s film Media Malpractice – How Obama Got Elected is finally getting the attention it deserves, mainly through the Internet blogosphere. The film exposes the morally bankrupt mainstream media (MSM) for the shameful role it played in having Barack Obama elected as U.S. President.

Is there a conspiracy to keep Canadians sick?

I have never considered myself to be a conspiracy theorist but recent activities involving health officials and organizations supposedly dedicated to the curing of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and cancer have given me cause to think maybe I’m wrong.

Fear and Loathing in the Good Ol’ U.S. of A.

I watched former U.S. President Bill Clinton, the Democrats’ version of Mahatma Ghandi, on CNN piously fretting over the growing concern on the left that the great unwashed masses known as middle-class America are increasingly viewing violence as an option to safeguard their rights.

Democracy Caledonia Style - Who Will Speak Up?

I would have thought that by now that Ontario’s Premier Dalton McGuinty would have figured out that his race-based policing tactics in besieged Caledonia is nothing but a cesspool that is sucking both his government and his disgraceful Ontario Political Police force into an inescapable pit.

OPP puts political masters ahead of duty

imageSitting out here on the “Wet Coast” I have been watching policing events unfold in my home province of Ontario, and more specifically Caledonia, with increasing alarm and trepidation. I have been following the violent, unchallenged takeover of that community by Mohawk natives from the Six Nations Reserve in 2006 combined with government and police abdication of their duties to Caledonia residents. While I say community, I realize it is a housing development that was seized.

Old media propagandists have nowhere left to hide

When you can’t beat them, ignore them. When you can no longer ignore them, discredit them. When you can’t discredit them, get the president to attempt to rescue you. The next line in this train of thought is still to be written.

Welcome Back to Canada, Ryan. You’re safe now.

Ryan Alexander JenkinsIt should come as a surprise to no one that accused murderer Ryan Alexander Jenkins has returned to his home country of Canada. You see, as soon as Ryan crossed the border he entered a country that will spare no expense to make sure he is never properly punished for the crime of which he is accused should he ever face trial and be convicted in the United States.

Self-inflicted wounds killing Old Media

Ever since the days of Benjamin Franklin, newspapers ruled the roost in the world of dispensing information to the masses. It would take nearly two centuries for other media to challenge print’s supremacy.

Democracy will survive in spite of newspapers, not because of them

In the June 16/09 edition of the Globe&Mail, columnist John Ibbitson poses this question in the headline over this America column: How does U.S. democracy survive without its newspapers? The column was ostensibly decrying the fact the industry is in shambles and an economic freefall.

Since time immemorial wannabe dictators and despots have repeatedly used the same tactics to achieve their tyrannical but disguised intentions.

Obama needs a good history lesson

When was the last time in living memory that any other president, in their first 100 days provoked average Americans into taking to the streets over government spending by re-enacting the Boston Tea Party of 1773?
