The latest attempt by the Security Council to admit “the State of Palestine” to membership of the United Nations has been vetoed by America--whilst the Security Council refuses to even discuss an alternative solution--the Hashemite Kingdom of Palestine solution - which calls for the merger of Jordan, Gaza and part of the West Bank into one territorial entity.

The United Nations (UN) is living in fairyland attempting to give legitimacy to the “The State of Palestine” which does not meet the legal criteria for statehood required under the 1933 Montevideo Convention.

Nearly 2,000 Students Opt-Out of Objectionable Instruction

According to 279 Parents United, a local parents’ group in Minnesota’s Osseo Area School District 279, an estimated 1,800 students and at least 15 teachers opted out of an “LGBTQIA+ History and Culture Lesson” recently. The opt-outs came after Liberty Counsel sent a demand letter to the school district’s superintendent, who later communicated to students and teachers and confirmed they were free to exercise their legal rights to opt out of participating in the lesson.

Ongoing Warfare In The Middle East

Iran and Israel are conducting direct military attacks which could escalate into a major regional war and potentially impact U.S. military forces in the Middle East.

Other attacks on Israel are instigated by militias in Syria, Lebanon, Yemen and Gaza, and the Hamas terrorist attack of October 7,2023 epitomizes the situation facing Israel.

The animosity and violence in the Middle East are attributable to religious differences and hatred between the Sunnis and the Shiites. There is the hatred of the Israeli Jews by many Arabs, and the Arab characterization of Christians and Jews as infidels. There are the remnants of the Syrian Civil War abetted by Russia; and the ongoing conflict between the Kurds of Iraq and Syria with Turkey.

The Sunni dominated countries of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bahrain are wary of Shiite Iran and its proxies in Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen and Gaza. These Sunni dominated countries will not provide any assistance to Iran in its confrontations with Israel. In fact, the Sunni dominated countries probably clandestinely provide intelligence support to Israel in its confrontations with the Shiite entities.

The Sunni countries look upon Israel as a buffer country in the Middle East who can blunt the impact of Iran and their Iraqi, Lebanese and Gaza militias.

The Palestinian’s Ludicrous Bid for Full UN Membership is Denied for Now

On April 18^th, Algeria, a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, submitted a draft resolution recommending to the General Assembly that Palestine be admitted to the UN as a full member state. It is currently an observer state with no voting powers. Fortunately, the Biden administration showed some backbone this time and exercised its veto power to prevent the draft resolution from passing. Twelve countries voted in favor of the resolution. France disgraced itself as one of the countries voting in favor of the Palestinians’ bid for full UN membership. Two countries, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, abstained.
