I tend to get a lot of mail because I publish my email address after each article. Because of the election and questions that are not being answered by the mainstream media, my mail is filled with political questions (in addition to the usual about business and finance). Perhaps you might like to hear my answers to the most asked questions this past week.

An open letter to barack obama and joseph biden

AN OPEN LETTER TO Office of the President, barack obama, administrator Office of the Vice President, joseph biden, administrator … and other elected officials, federal, state, and local: Your job titles are capitalized because they represent something to be honored and respected by citizens of a Republic. Your names are in lower case because that’s where you belong… lower case. In short, you are unworthy of an upper case designation. No honor given.

Palin: A double-edged endorsement sword

President John F. Kennedy once said: "Mothers may still want their favorite sons to grow up to be President, but . . . they do not want them to become politicians in the process" According to Wordnet , a politician is "A schemer who tries to gain advantage in an organization in sly or underhanded ways."

Belgium offers no forgiveness to Rome

"ROME -- The Vatican expressed 'shock' on Friday at the raid on Thursday by the Belgian police of church offices in their search for hidden evidence of child sex abuse by priests. It also voiced its 'indignation' at what it called the 'violation' of two cardinals' tombs in the search."

Value Added Tax and Illegals

Machiavelli once said "The end justifies the means.” Many American politicians appear to be in bed with that concept. It is on the assumption that the end justifies the means that most of the corruption so apparent in our government thrives. It is also why England’s conservatives, ahead by 19 points seven months ago, barely squeaked by with a two-point victory in that nation’s elections this week. If Republicans do not learn from that lesson, they will repeat it in November.

Creating Jobs

It’s more important than ever to determine how “in touch” with problems political candidates are. Most voters let candidates get away with meaningless, broad sweeping statements like “We’ve got to get the bank credit freeze melted so we can create jobs. I intend to concentrate on creating jobs!”

What Caused America’s Economic Melt Down

The political season is upon us. Will it be any different than other elections that have brought us such a corrupt system? Will we have more political promises with no follow-through?

Citibank needs seven days?

Late last week, a slight furor arose when it became public knowledge that Citibank sent the following notice to customers: “Effective April 1, 2010, we reserve the right to require seven (7) days advance notice before permitting a withdrawal from all checking accounts. While we do not currently exercise this right and have not exercised it in the past, we are required by law to notify you of this change.” In my opinion, this was not just a notice about Citibank or Citigroup. It was a notice to people that all banks are undercapitalized and all have the right to take up to seven (7) days to clear a check or to give you all the money in your checking account if you demand it.

Yesterday’s Traditions and Tomorrow’s Innovations

I learned long ago that successful people build bridges between yesterday's traditions and tomorrow's innovations. They don’t tear down the wisdom yesterday built and they don’t block the progress brought by tomorrow’s dreams.

How to Effectively Develop New Business

Bargaining With Life for a Penny…

There is an old adage that says: "I bargained with life for a penny, and life would pay me no more..." What are you willing to settle for? A penny? A nickel? A dime? A dollar? A million dollars? Or, is there something so much more important than money you would not sell it for any price?

Barnewall: “La Mauvaise Vie?” Is the Story Over?

One of my favorite newsletters comes from a Canadian writer, Jim Willie. His projections about the North American economy have been right far more often than they have been wrong. He is seldom wrong, in fact. He says America’s story as the leader of the world is over.

In his recent newsletter titled “The Golden Jackass“, Willie had this to say:

The Long, Grey Line

We’ve all heard of the “Thin Blue Line.” It suggests a thin line of policemen in blue uniforms is all that stands between civilized society and the chaos of predators descending upon us. It is also a term used to express a sense of “brotherhood” that exists between police officers.
