President Biden Deserted A Marine

Brittney Griner is back in the U.S. after the Biden administration was able to negotiate a prisoner swap with Russia, but was this the right swap? Paul Whelan, a former U.S. Marine, has been a Russian prisoner for four years. His health has deteriorated, and Whelan and his family are probably losing confidence in the ability of the U.S. government to bring him home. I am sure many people in the U.S. believe Whelan should have superseded Griner in the order of swapping prisoners. Furthermore, the prisoner we returned to Russia was an arms dealer who sold weapons to anti-U.S. terrorists. Have we enabled him to sell more weapons to terrorists who want to strike at the U.S.? I wonder if Griner's popularity and notoriety as a big time basketball player played into her superseding Whelan in the prisoner swap. Did the Biden administration place importance on her popularity and the impact on the voting public when compared to Whelan's obscurity? Whelan was a Marine who was willing to fight and die to defend our country. Griner said she thought the national anthem should not be played prior to her basketball games. Hopefully, Whelan will be receiving the same U.S. negotiating skills Griner received, and we will see him back in the U.S. very soon. Donald Moskowitz Former LT, U.S. Navy

MTOA & AGLCA Member Couple Cruise Northern Chesapeake for Extended Labor Day Weekend Mini-Loop

Alan and Jeanne Cecil and M/V SigmachiEditor’s Note: More than a few of us, particularly those longing to get back to ‘normal’, are a tad sad when the long Labor Day Weekend marks the unofficial end of summer. But my dearest seafaring friends, Alan and Jeanne Cecil got back to normal by rebuilding and sailing their Motor Vessel Sig Machi in Chesapeake Bay, only returning back to shore when they have to. It was this delightful seafaring couple who literally made my 2017 Christmas, sending me their wedding photo under the message: “Merry Christmas From New York City!”

The War Upon Us All

The War Upon Us AllMore than 60 years ago John F. Kennedy issued a warning about the “monolithic and ruthless conspiracy” that was using “covert means for expanding its sphere of influence.” He also warned us about the “very grave danger that an announced need for increased security will be seized upon” by the perpetrators of this conspiracy to advance their agenda. In 2020, the Covid 19 pandemic offered the would-be conspirators an ideal opportunity. The worldwide emergency enabled them to launch a decisive gambit to sidestep the legal strictures of democratic rule and attempt to create a global authoritarian police state.

The Federal Reserve Fell Asleep

As a Babson MBA graduate I am highly disappointed with the Federal Reserve's very late recognition of the runaway inflation impacting our country. Inflation is running at 8.5% compared to a year ago, and the Federal Reserve (Fed) only started to increase interest rates in March 2022 to try to reach its target of 2.0%.How did we reach this debacle?

Russian Devil Threatens The World

The Russian invasion of Ukraine and the attendant destruction, deaths and war crimes against humanity has dramatically changed the status of our world, and It is a wakeup call for Europe to be ready to confront Russia. We are faced with a Russian devil who launches missiles to indiscriminately kill civilians and destroy civilian property. Ukraine needs the capability to destroy Russian missile launching sites.

Abortion Compassion

Abortion CompassionInformation leaked from the Supreme Court indicates that it is likely the opinion in Roe v. Wade will be reversed. Here is one of the articles on the subject. If Roe v. Wade is reversed it will not automatically outlaw abortions in every state. It will simply throw the decisions back to the various states, where it was before Roe v. Wade. That will mean more than ever we will need to make the case to protect these little ones. That is why my new book on abortion: Abortion Compassion, is so important. A copy of this book needs to be available to every pro-life clinic in America. Can you share this message with your friends? It will be greatly appreciated. If anyone is working with a prolife clinic and would like a copy of the book simply send me your name and address and I will send you a copy; no charge.

The Russian Pariah

Putin is Hitler reincarnated. Hitler tried to create a German empire throughout Europe during WWII. Putin wants to recreate a Russian empire in Europe starting with the invasion of Ukraine. Unfortunately, the democracies are currently showing similar military wariness tendencies as the Allies showed against Hitler's initial invasions. Putin thought he would overrun Ukraine, but he is meeting fierce resistance from the Ukrainians. Increased military preparedness by NATO, especially in Poland, and severe economic sanctions might deter Putin from his expansionist policy, but it will not save Ukraine. NATO and the U.S. should have sent military forces into western Ukraine. Out of fear of Russia the Biden administration balked at transferring Polish aircraft to Ukraine. We let down Ukraine, and this will embolden Putin. The free world must continue to support Ukraine with military and economic assistance, and sanctions must be maintained against Russia until it leaves Ukraine. Subsequently, Russia should be subjected to TRILLIONS of dollars in war reparations starting with their seized assets; and Putin and his henchmen must be charged with war crimes. The U.S. has to reevaluate its national security posture versus Russia. Russia's standing among countries has been irreparably damaged, and Putin and Russia are considered pariahs of the world and the enemies of mankind.

Russia Is The Immoral Enemy

After Putin invaded Ukraine, the U.S. administration timidly succumbed to Putin's threats to widen the war if the U.S. and NATO became directly involved. We abandoned Ukraine to the Russian war crimes machine by not confronting the aggression within Ukraine. Economic sanctions against Russia and the supply of defensive military equipment to Ukraine will not stop the wanton deaths and destruction. They need combat aircraft, tanks and long range offensive missile systems.

CRISIS in UKRAINE: What’s REALLY Going On

CRISIS in UKRAINE: What’s REALLY Going OnThere’s a crisis in Ukraine, but who’s invading whom, exactly, and when did it actually start? As the bodies of heroic Ukrainians pile up, Michael J. Matt takes a hard look at how we got here. Here’s the timeline: Back in 2014, when Jen Psaki was a spokesperson for Hillary Clinton’s State Department, she was asked about plans for a secret U.S. coup d’état in Ukraine that had been leaked to the press.

Move Military Forces Into Western Ukraine

Since the Russians are essentially occupying eastern Ukraine, and are attacking Kyiv from the north, east and south, maybe NATO military forces with U.S. support should move into western Ukraine to prevent Russia from completely overrunning Ukraine. Air cover would have to be provided for the ground forces. This would allow Ukrainian civilians to remain in Ukraine, and it could provide an alternate Ukrainian government seat of power if Kyiv is taken by the Russians. The presence of NATO and U.S. military forces in western Ukraine would also provide leverage to get the Russians out of eastern Ukraine since NATO and the U.S. could agree to pull its forces out of western Ukraine as part of a negotiated settlement. Obviously, moving military forces into western Ukraine runs the risk of war with Russia, but the alternative of trying to get Russia out of Ukraine with sanctions and diplomacy might not be viable. Additionally, it would put Russia on notice that it faces robust military action by NATO if it tries any expansionist moves in the future.

Join the 12-Minute Trucker Protest

Join the 12-Minute Trucker Protest I was at a gas station the other day and saw a flyer announcing a truckers’ protest starting this Monday at noon. It’s called #12NoonTruckStop on Twitter and makes a lot of sense. The idea is for all truckers to safely pull to the side of the road every day at 12 noon for 12 minutes in support of the Canadian truckers and their demand to an end to all mask and vaccine mandates.

FREEDOM, EH? Canada Leads the WorldBREAKING: Saskatchewan Premier, responding to the Freedom Convoy, says it’s time to lift the mandates. In this week’s edition of The Remnant Underground, Michael J. Matt covers the Freedom Convoy’s first press conference. Guess what? The truckers know all about Davos, the World Economic Forum, and The Great Reset. In fact, they say that’s what they’re fighting against.

China Controls Critical Supplies

Alan Dowd documents some problems with China in The American Legion Magazine of December 2020, and I liberally quote from the article. The COVID 19 pandemic has highlighted the adverse impact on the world attributable to China's domination of the production of medicines, personal protective equipment and other medical supplies. Prior to the pandemic China produced " 35.9 percent of America's antibiotics, 49.8 percent of our medical bandages, 71.7 percent of our facemasks and 77.2 percent of our plastic gloves. During the pandemic China " quietly managed to buy up much of the world's N95 masks. " China, a potential adversary, also controls the production of rare earth elements, which are used in the manufacture of a wide array of products, including " cell phones, televisions, vehicle engines, computers, lasers, industrial magnets, fiber-optics, and superconductors, and they are also used in our military hardware such as " F-35 aircraft and our M1A2 tank. " A number of friendly countries are working together to move the manufacture of critical supplies and elements away from China to facilities in Australia, Japan, South Korea, India, Europe and Latin America, but the U.S. cannot rely on foreign manufacturers for these critical products. We must speed up our manufacturing of these items in our country.

Jordan Peterson: Open the damn country back up, before Canadians wreck something we can’t fixThe country is growing more authoritarian in response to

Jordan PetersonI spent more than three hours on the phone this weekend trying to get through to the online security department of one of Canada’s major banks. One of my accounts was shut down (because I had the effrontery to sign in from Alberta — an event too unexpected for the bank’s security systems). I was placed on hold interminably, subjected all the while to the corporate world’s idea of music (to soothe me). I was then offered a call-back, which I duly received, 45 minutes later. Then I was placed on hold again, and again, and again. This all occurred after my patience had already been exhausted in the aftermath of trying to fly in Canada.

Disloyal Football Bowl Dropouts

As a Penn Stater, class of 1963, I was disappointed with six starting football players who dropped out of the recent Outback Bowl. Five were defensive starters, which crippled the Penn State defense. Coach Franklin said it was the worst bowl optout situation he has experienced. Happily, the Big Ten record in the bowls was 6 and 4. Players dropping out of bowl games for fear of being injured prior to the NFL draft is disconcerting. Injuries can occur anytime during their careers. Most of the players were on four year scholarships and committed to play the football seasons, which includes bowl games. The NCAA and athletic conferences have to address this problem because it demeans the significance of bowl games and compromises the spirit of college athletics. Michigan Heisman Trophy runner up Aidan Hutchinson summed why players should not opt out, stating ------- "we wouldn't leave our team out to dry ever just for all the work we've put in." Maybe NFL teams should question the loyalty of these bowl drop out players. Additionally, what about the college football coaches who took jobs with other schools and did not coach their previous teams in bowl games?

Futile fusion research

The ultimate source of energy in the universe is nuclear fusion. It powers the sun and the stars. To work, extremely high temperature and high-pressure gases – plasmas – are required. The stars hold their plasmas by gravity. On Earth, in an attempt to harness fusion for electric power production, magnetic fields are required to hold fusion plasmas. This is an extremely difficult task. Decades ago, a Russian magnetic field configuration – the tokamak – appeared promising. Countries built ever-larger tokamak experiments to develop this “magnetic bottle.”

They’re Getting Desperate! Let’s Keep Up the Pressure!

They’re Getting Desperate! Let’s Keep Up the Pressure!Saturday was both a great day and a very sad day. That’s the way things are unfolding, and very quickly, in Canada right now. The great part happened early in the day, when I was honoured to drive a tractor at the head of a Freedom Convoy that made its way from Tillsonburg to Norwich, Ontario, and was followed by a Freedom Rally. The line of vehicles stretched back behind me farther than anyone could see, and by the time we got to the site of the rally, thousands had gathered. The convoy was so long, when we reached Norwich, there were still 40 cars that hadn't started the journey 37 km away! A 37 km convoy is pretty cool! To see a glimpse of it, click here.
