Are You A Republicrat?

I am not a liberal. I am a conservative. When I say conservative, I do not mean the rank and file CINO, or Conservative In Name Only. I mean that I am a genuine, common sense, down to earth person who will vote for a candidate based on moral constitutional principles of integrity regardless of party. Now before you turn me off labeling me as some fringe wacko libertarian kind of nut, just hear me out.

Movie Review: Last Ounce of Courage

Last Ounce of Courage lives up to the billing: A Story of Family, Faith and Freedom. I attended a preview screening of this film Tuesday, August 28, in Laurel, hosted by executive producers and writers, Richard and Gina Headrick. Having been close friends with the Headricks for the past 18 years and working with them on various projects, and knowing the quality of their work, my expectations of the film were confirmed and surpassed. It is inspiring and entertaining, but most of all, it is a call to action for patriots to challenge the powers-that-be who would strip away our religious and civic freedoms.

The Real Answer to Obamacare

Obamacare is now constitutional. At least that is what the majority of the highest ruling body in this land has stated. And the Supreme Court is the lone group who determines what is and what is not constitutional. But what if they are wrong? The majority of the American people say they are wrong, since the majority are against Obamacare. So what do we do? Revolt? Storm DC? Write Letters? Gripe? Pray? Vote? Of the aforementioned actions, the only ones needed and that will work are the last two.

Abortion is the Ultimate Child Abuse

Outrage is expected from both liberals and conservatives on the issue of child abuse, but what about the ultimate child abuse of abortion? Liberals are usually strangely silent. As horrible as neglect, molestation, beatings, and desertion may be, murder of the helpless and innocent through abortion is worse. Though abandoned and abused children suffer, at least they still have life and, hopefully, can be taken by someone who will really love them. No such chance for the murdered unborn innocents.

Politically Incorrect Limericks

Limericks are fun and can be very educational. I started writing politically incorrect limericks a few years back and the collection has grown. Only thick skinned, common-sense minded folks will appreciate these. Of course, thin skinned sissified liberals will cry and whine, therefore classify yourself and get ready to either laugh or cry. I guarantee that you have never read limericks like these.

First Things First

A good foundation is always important. A solid foundation is essential in the construction of a building. A strong academic base is important for success in higher education. The parable Jesus told about the wise man and the foolish man is more than just a children’s Bible story. Rock is always preferable to sand for a foundation.

Unaccountable Delegation Leads to Disaster

We have become a society of delegation with no accountability. We delegate that which is our responsibility and that delegation then turns into replacement. Let me explain what I mean. Delegation has its place. Good leaders delegate responsibilities and tasks to workers under their authority. Delegation gives a boss the freedom to focus on other things.

Which Sign Should You Wear?

The “You Might Be a Redneck If” sayings have spawned several “If” jokes over the years. Different versions have popped up from time to time. Some folks claim to be neither liberal or conservative and a few think you cannot know. If you do not know whether you are a liberal or a conservative, then you are a liberal, because a conservative has enough sense to identify and classify honestly. Liberals, on the other hand, are so dense, they don’t know whether they are washin’ or hangin’ out. Here are some identifiers, a few original, others adapted, which can help you know which sign to wear.

Attention Deficit Disorder…...Not

The topic of ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) or ADHD (Attention Deficit with Hyperactivity Disorder) can stir emotion in some, especially among parents whose children are affected. It was originally known as Minimal Brain Dysfunction. There are two basic types of ADD: (1) Passive, where the child is not hyperactive, but can’t focus and (2) Active, where the child is hyperactive along with a deficiency of attention. Plainly stated, ADD children can’t focus their attention on anything for a long time.

Taxing the Sunlight

An ever growing government must by necessity grow in expanding its revenue (called taxing to the uninformed) and therefore can be very creative in methods for taxing and names for said taxes. Since the phrase “cut spending” is not found in any dictionary or book owned by politicians, the only recourse is to increase revenue. Government makes Robin Hood look like an amateur. Frederic Bastiat was correct when he called taxation legalized plunder.

Are You Better Off Now?

Are things better now after three years of Obama? This is the question of the hour that must be asked repeatedly until it becomes the mantra of all who love America. If you owned a business and hired someone to manage it for you, there would be an expectation of a profit at the end of each year. What if your business ended in the red at the end of the first year? What if that manager borrowed money to stay afloat and ended up in the red again the next year? What if more debt was accumulated and the third year also ended in the red? And what if your manager kept blaming the previous manager for all the current problems after three years? And what if your manager proposed a solution for your business, to straighten out all the problems, by spending more and going more into debt? Would you think he was insane? You would be the one suffering from insanity for not firing the manager after the first year of losing your money. Why would anyone allow a manager to continue with a growing record of consistent failure and loss?

Family Values

Have you ever had a tempting offer that seemed too good to be true? One example that comes to mind would be the work at home ads that promise you will make $10,000 the first month and as much as you want after that. The old saying "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is" is an axiom of truth.

Illegal Means Illegal: Close the Border

Notice the emphasis on one word used twice in the title of this commentary: ILLEGAL. There is a current real problem and threat to America's financial well-being and cultural stability. This invasion from Mexico has reached epidemic proportions and no one in power seems to even notice there is a problem.

Obama and Redistribution of Your Wealth

In a speech earlier this week (April 10), President Obama said the following: “So these investments — in things like education and research and health care — they haven’t been made as some grand scheme to redistribute wealth from one group to another…this is not some socialist dream.”

Stand Your Ground and Protect Your Castle

There is a firestorm brewing over the Zimmerman/Trayvon affair. The validity of self-defense laws may be challenged. “Stand your ground” laws and “castle doctrine” laws are found in over 30 states. These laws give the right for a home or property owner to defend him or herself against an attacker without hesitation or second guessing.

The Purpose of Government

Government does have a purpose, but it is limited. A proper understanding of the purpose, role and scope of government as envisioned and established by our founding fathers is essential to the future well-being of this country. America is not a pure democracy, but a republic under democratic rule by representation.

Absolute Absolutes

A law expresses an absolute and an absolute establishes authority. If there is one thing liberals hate, it is an absolute authority. Where does authority begin? It must have a source. There are basically two views which contradict one another. (1) Authority is derived from man, as groups collectively bestow power upon government or magistrates, to govern the people, or (2) Authority is derived from God, then man organizes government, based upon the commandments and principles of God. If authority comes from man, then there are no absolutes.

Sick of Fake Conservatives

There are some great champions for conservatism on talk radio and the internet and true conservatives owe a debt of gratitude for their insight and encouragement. They have captivated the hearts of millions of listeners who highly esteem their words and wisdom. Their influence has made a difference in awakening multitudes from their drugged sleep of the opiate of the modern media.

Patriot’s Declaration of Truth

We the people are tired of being told what to think and what we should tolerate, condone and endorse. We are tired of seeing Christianity bashed, God blasphemed, perversion praised, and prayer and religion expelled from public and government life. We are fed up with Greenpeace, animal rights and all manner of environmental wackism.

A Politician, or a Statesman?

In today’s political society of corruption, the crying need of the hour is for people of real character and integrity to enter the arena as Jimmy Stewart did in the classic film, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington. In his innocence and simplicity, Mr. Smith believed his job in Washington was to accurately represent his constituents and support measures for the common good of all, with the Constitution as his guide. Mr. Smith arrived in Washington, not as a politician seeking personal gain, but as a statesman on a patriotic mission. Is your elected official a politician or a statesman? It is pretty easy to find out. See how he or she measures up below with these top ten contrasts, and then send a copy to them.
