Muhammad Ali: Fists of Steel Yield to Soul of Butterfly

The headlines in the 1960s and beyond accurately portrayed Muhammad Ali as anything but a moderate in relation to people without color in general, and Jews in particular. Who would have imagined that he would evolve into a model of Muslim moderation and appreciation of Jews as well as of members of other religions?

If There is Any Racism, It Has Been to Bend Back in Favor of Arabs!

The ironies have never been greater, as will be the representation of the Arabs in the new Israeli parliament now in formation. Prime Minister Netanyahu has been accused of racism upon trying to get out his base to vote by pointing out that the press was observing that Arabs were coming out in droves on Election Day. But what does this tell us? Even the most anti-Semitic Israel basher and Netanyahu basher has to concede that the fact that Arabs were coming out in droves to vote as never before is an indication that the Arabs are and feel enfranchised more than ever before, and the fact that this was a concern to the prime minister confirms that the Arabs, as all other citizens of Israel, wield real power in Israel.

Overzealous Penn State Ethics Panel Overreacts by Wrongly Firing Emmanuil Kaidanov

Penn State became infamous for failing to take prompt action against a staff member of its football program a few years ago. But now it deserves to become even more infamous for allegedly wrongfully firing one of its most respected and idealistic faculty members. It gets even uglier when one discovers that the head coach they fired, Emmanuil Kaidanov, is the most successful head coach in the history of NCAA fencing, and known to be extremely popular, ethical, and loyal to the university and its students for 31 years, bringing fame and glory to the university and lifelong appreciation for the positive influence he has had on his team members.

Obama’s Election Not a Repudiation of Romney or Republicans

The idea that Obama’s election is a repudiation of Romney or Republicans couldn’t be more misleading, nor could it be more misleading than the misleading communications by the Obama campaign that led to the president’s reelection.

Obama’s Convention Speech Highlights His Own Weaknesses

President Obama may have called on President Clinton to save his presidency as only a person untrustworthy enough to have been impeached could do, with a straight face. But Obama has been unable to repeat Clinton’s successes, with one exception: he is able to deliver a speech that exceeds normal time limits, just as it exceeds most records for abnormal distortions.

Clinton’s Speech at Convention Actually Highlighted Obama’s Weaknesses

The very fact that Obama had to rely on a past president to nominate him, the first time an incumbent ever showed such desperation, signaled to the American people just how weak his record in office has been. Even before President Clinton opened his mouth at the Democratic convention, his very presence in this position as nominator reminded every American how much better Clinton’s record is than Obama’s. In fact, much of what Clinton said directly highlighted this comparison.

Presentation of the Fact-Checkers’ Results Can Distort the Truth As Much as Outright Lies

In the immediate aftermath of the speech by Vice-Presidential Candidate Ryan at the recent Republican National Convention, the point has been reached wherein pro-active “fact checkers” can come out with “corrections” even before the words being “corrected” come out of the mouths of the people being “corrected,” and can be cited immediately by hostile pseudo-liberal reporters and analysts even before the echoes of the “corrected” words have receded into history.

V. P. Candidate Paul Ryan Even Stronger on Foreign Policy Than Most Presidential Candidates,

Many people in the press and in the Democratic Party (to the extent that they are not one and the same) are so overwhelmed by Paul Ryan’s credentials on domestic economic issues that they have falsely stated that he is weak on foreign policy issues. He may indeed be weaker on foreign policy issues than on domestic economic issues, but he is still far stronger on foreign policy issues than most presidential candidates in recent decades, let alone vice-presidential candidates.

Olympic Uniform Brouhaha Shows the Imperial Democratic Emperor Has No Clothes

The true scandal of the origin of the American team’s uniforms goes deeper than to and through the proverbial figurative hole “all the way down to China.” It is said that “the road to Hell is paved with good intentions,” and so it may be said, and it may be sad, that the road to unions may have originally been well intentioned, even though it has led to the Hellish situation whereby even the symbols of American patriotism – the American uniforms at the Olympics, and before that American flags waved on the Fourth of July – were made in China. The fact that unions have gone too far is well documented, so that the pendulum has swung full cycle from previous abuses by management to current abuses by many unions, in ways it is unnecessary to articulate again.

The Easiest Job Is Ascertaining Key Deficiencies in the Obama Jobs Bill and Speech

Perhaps the best thing about Obama’s latest proposed jobs bill – The American Jobs Act -- is that it has been drafted at a time when one would expect him to be able to truly empathize with his fellow Americans who have lost their jobs or who fear losing them, since he seems poised as never before to lose his own. Now he can finally give the appearance of being able to feel the pain and desperation of his fellow Americans. But feeling the pain isn’t what we need. We need a leader who can prevent the conditions that lead to this pain.

Wrong President Getting Main Credit for Locating bin Laden

President Obama’s first Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel, set the tone for the president’s administration when he said, in an interview November 9, 2008, shortly after the election that brought him to power, “Never allow a crisis to go to waste.” This approach, of course, enabled the Obama administration to take advantage of the economic crisis to create a trillion dollar “stimulus” plan to reward his backers and set back true economic recovery, and to nationalize, to some extent, the banking industry, the auto industry, and health care.

Opposition to Obama’s Plea to Give His Legislative “Changes” More Time to Kick In

One of President Obama’s latest public arguments is that it took a lot of time for the slaves to be freed and for minorities and women to get the right to vote, and the civil rights they finally have, so the American people should (G-d forbid) give him more time for his changes to take effect, ranging from his “stimulus” plans to his tax plans to his health care plans, and so on, to perhaps more thousand-page not-fully-read plans not yet hatched and foisted onto the American public.

Rebuttal to Moore’s Distorted Portrayal of Capitalism

imageEven the worst movies can have some redeeming qualities, and Michael Moore’s latest venture into sarcastic distortions and unquestionable hypocrisy is no exception. Let us begin with what may have been the generally tedious movie’s best quality, its epilogue quoting one of the most creative and productive Americans who ever lived, Benjamin Franklin.

Is President Obama Our Gamesman-in-Chief?

Arguably, the president made an unprecedented number of unprecedentedly brazen misrepresentations in his latest address to the joint session of Congress, and to the nation. These alleged misrepresentations have already been documented in various articles and fact-check web sites. This piece will focus on perhaps arguably the most outrageous misrepresentation of all, which is not even being widely discussed, if at all, to wit, the president’s statement that “The time for games is over.” Yet it is this President who has arguably toyed with the American people as he arguably treats his agenda as one big game, akin to a con game, in more ways than any previous president.

Critique of Obama’s Washington Post Editorial on the Mis-Named “Stimulus” Package

imageThe arrogance, absurdity, and hypocrisy of Obama’s editorial in the Washington Post February 5 should stimulate all clear-thinking Americans to advise their politicians to vote against Obama’s mis-named “stimulus” putrid package of pork. Obama begins by arrogantly stating that we must “begin” the work of turning our economy around, as if the work had not already begun even before the presidential election of a few months ago. Unfortunately, Obama voted to begin this work with the $700 billion bailout whose effect has been most disappointing so far, as most of the money already spent has been misspent, by most accounts. Although the Democrats allege that the economic collapse began as a result of inadequate accountability, the bipartisan bailout plan failed to create the type of accountability that most informed Americans – other than people like Obama – knew was necessary.

Criticizing the Obama Messiah’s Inaugural Address

Obama’s inaugural address continues his post-election pattern of being more moderate and rational than he was in campaigning for the election; however, his speech is also filled with ironies, arrogance, inconsistencies, and glaring grammatical errors.

Post-Election thoughts for Obama opponents on how to cope with the Obama election tragedy

imageAn American hero has fallen like a ripe old acorn in part because of a tainted ACORN and its many trainers (including Obama) and trainees. How can anyone find comfort in the wake of such a tragedy? The truths of their values and agendas have been disclosed but not widely and effectively enough to reach enough of the American electorate. In a universe where cream inevitably rises to the top, and dirt inevitably sinks to the bottom, the time is sure to come when the truth about Obama will seep in to the consciousness of the majority of the American people, and the people who lied to the American people and who misled them will inevitably be thrown out of office.

Proponents of Universal Health care: Undermining Quality Health Care, War on Terror, U.S. Economy

As much as any other issues that will affect people’s lives if the Democrats win are socialized medicine, by any other name, domestically, and the War on Terror, whether fought – or not fought -- in Iraq, Iran, Israel and/or the U.S., internationally. Many people don’t connect the dots, but this article points out how these topics relate to each other and how important it is to make sure that socialized medicine won’t be allowed to divert funding away from the War on Terror and ruin our health care system, let alone our whole economy in the process.
