Observations by a Citizen

Just this week the news reports tell us of a real event that we would only imagine coming from some sicko horror story. A lady in Longmont Colorado put an ad to sell baby things in an on-line classified advertising site. A young mother-to-be responded and went to the first lady’s address. American exceptionalism

The question of “American Exceptionalism” has surfaced increasingly since Obama was chosen to preside over the American people. From the time of our founding as an independent republic through at least the Reagan administration, we have recognized that there was something different about Americans and the nation they built. The Connecticut Tragedy and Safety in Schools

A lot of children, and a few adults who deserve every bit as much grieving by all of us, were slaughtered a week ago in Connecticut. The evil act was accomplished in a quiet, peaceful school. It happened suddenly, with horrid noises and pain, inside the walls that everyone had trusted to protect them.

“Gay Marriage” and Chicken Nuggets

“Gay Marriage” – adding homosexual pairings to the legal classification of “marriage” - is strongly opposed by most Americans. The massive August 1, 2012 rallies at Chick-fil-A restaurants across the nation openly demonstrated that there is a strong support for the traditional family advocated by most churches and the founder of Chick-fil-A.
