Well, well, well. Isn’t this interesting? Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe – who, you may recall, has some ‘difficulty’ telling the truth – is requesting immunity in exchange for testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Looks like it’s shaping up to be a big day for Washington D.C. deals. First we got word of Andrew McCabe’s desired immunity deal. Now, we turn our attention to another scandal that could end up having just as much of a national impact. This time it’s Debbie Wasserman Schultz and her now-infamous “IT aide” Imran Awan.
Democrats love to use resigning Republicans as a tea-leaf predictor of the GOP’s midterm chances. Every time a conservative (or RINO) resigns, it’s because they’re terrified of “the blue wave” that’s supposedly coming in November.
I’m tempted to call Maxine Waters a one-trick pony. The problem is, she really has two tricks. The first trick is demanding President Trump’s impeachment – something she does on an almost daily basis. This trick convinces left-wing news shows to book her and tolerate her crazy rambling. It’s the trick you’re familiar with if you live in the 49 states that aren’t California.
Earlier today, Dan gave you his take on the Trump/Philadelphia Eagles situation. Now it’s my turn. Before we start, I want to tell our regular readers that this is not one of those times where we go toe to toe in a political grudge match. The boss can rest assured that we’re not bickering behind the scenes. The only difference is that I think Trump played this pretty well in a PR sense, and, well, you can read Dan’s thoughts here.
As Mika Brzezinski said on Morning Joe, “We’ve been waiting decades” for this. In a new interview, The Today Show’s Craig Melvin pressed Bill Clinton on the Monica Lewinsky scandal, abuse of power, the #MeToo movement, and whether or not he owes a certain White House intern an apology. It’s clear that Bill is not pleased with this line of questioning.
Friday’s jobs report has been met with virtually universal praise. The demographic breakdowns are consistently strong, matching or exceeding the high-water marks set prior to the collapse in 2000, While African-American, Hispanic, and Asian unemployment rates are at their lowest recorded levels ever. A huge swath of the manufacturing jobs Obama told us were “not coming back” have come back, and all signs indicate that the growth will continue.
For most of Obama’s eight years, the employment numbers were dismal and stagnant. Despite all the stimulus spending and alleged “shovel ready jobs” Unemployment was way up, growth was almost impossibly slow, and no one within the President’s administration seemed to have any genuine interest in making things better.
TBS has a problem. Samantha Bee’s non-apology landed with a thud, the left is eagerly lining up to regurgitate or one-up her initial comment, and advertisers are taking notice of the controversy. So far, at least two of Full Frontal with Samantha Bee’s sponsors have dumped the show, while one has announced its intention to stay.
If you pay any attention to the liberal media, or Democrat talking heads, you’d think the end is nigh. They claim The United States is in decline – a racist, misogynist, paranoid mass of scar tissue that could tear itself apart at any moment. Since the election, they’ve become hysterical as they try to one-up their usual level of fear-mongering and race-baiting.
Republicans are monsters. Donald Trump is a monster. Pretty much every conservative is a hateful bigot who despises the “other.” Any and all possible actions that could – in any way – embarrass or damage the political right must be undertaken immediately. Don’t bother to check the facts, just attack.
Sometimes I’m baffled about the things pollsters choose to examine. I get polling policies or candidates, but stuff like this? I’m shocked that anyone, anywhere, actually thought “hey we really need to get a read on whether people are comfortable calling roving gangs of rapists and murderers ‘animals.'”
Let’s get one thing straight. Hillary Clinton doesn’t give a damn about supporting women. In fact, she doesn’t really care about anything. To the Clintons, every single issue is a talking point – an exploitable moment – and nothing more.
So, after a 2016 campaign that focused Hillary’s white-hot glare upon the idea that women absolutely must support female candidates, is anyone really surprised that she’s chosen not to do so herself? Of course not.
Obama has once again repeated his claim that his administration was scandal free. So, off the top of my head…
Benghazi, IRS targeting, passing Obamacare based on the ‘ignorance of the American people, Hillary’s email server, ‘lost & found’ DOJ and IRS communications, YouTube video, OPM data breach, ‘you can keep your doctor,’ Susan Rice lies, Veterans Affairs deaths, Solyndra, secret cash to Iran, wiretapping AP reporters, James Rosen, Hezbollah cocaine shipments, FBI spying on Trump, Trump tower wiretaps, Biden groping everyone’s kids, Loretta Lynch Tarmac Meeting, ‘Matter’ vs ‘investigation,’ Hillary allowed to dodge charges, Pigford, Syrian Red Line, Arab Spring, Handling of the “JV Team,” Churchill Bust, illegal war in Libya, Clock Boy, ‘acted stupidly,’ and trading Taliban terrorists for Bowe Bergdahl.
If you read any news this morning, you probably saw that Pyongyang had – allegedly – blown up the tunnels that that made up the bulk of its nuclear testing facility at Punggye-ri. As the BBC reports, the site was destroyed. However, it’s entirely possible that the damage is reversible and may have been caused by a previous collapse. Remember, this is North Korea we’re dealing with. You can’t trust anything that comes from the pudgy mouth of glorious leader.
Over the course of the last two weeks, the media has been rife with “will they, won’t they” stories about the forthcoming meeting between President Donald Trump and North Korean Bowl Cut enthusiast Kim Jong Un. One minute it’s all set to occur as planned, the next we’re told ‘anonymous sources’ say it’s all been cancelled, and then it back on again.
Democrats are still desperate to explain their 2016 loss, and they’re desperate to do so without admitting that Hillary Clinton personifies most of their horrible, unworkable, rejected, beliefs. The candidate herself has become famous for her “everyone and everything but me” blame game – to the point where even former supporters are telling her to pipe down and go away. She’s not going to. Frankly, I suspect she’s in capable of doing so.
“No one wants to take your guns.” As I’ve written before, that’s always been the left’s most easily identifiable lie. It’s never even been a question. Of course they want to take your guns. They want to strip you of your rights, eliminate your ability to defend yourself, and eradicate even the notion that you could resist their efforts to make you subservient to (and dependent on) the federal government. That’s their goal. That is the endgame.
The “Blue Wave” is coming, everyone. It’s going to roll across California, flood the deserts, swamp the Rocky mountains, and then drench everything from Kansas to Maine. There’s simply no stopping it, so you probably shouldn’t even try. Democrats are going to win everything in the 2018 Midterms, and then they’re going to raise your taxes and impeach Trump. …At least, that’s the situation according to Democrats.
