Hillary Clinton was, without question, one of the worst presidential candidates in history. At this point, there’s just no way to deny it. Her unpleasant demeanor, arrogance, myopic strategy, and presumptuous belief that she couldn’t fail congealed into one of the most atrocious campaigns anyone has ever seen. Heck, even people who wanted her to win admit that she was, quite simply, the worst.

If geriatric coot Bernie Sanders is really going to
The prevailing Democrat wisdom (if such a thing exists) is that “Bernie woulda won.” Everyone, they claim, was just champing at the bit to embrace Bernie’s curmudgeon act. Leftists, socialists, and progressives are certain that – had their party not shafted him – the Vermont Senator would have defeated Donald Trump in a landslide.
Michael Moore has had a tough couple of years. Please note; that’s not sympathy. It’s just a statement of fact.
His Broadway show went down in flames, the man he considers to be one of the worst people on Earth demolished his political party, and his movies don’t enjoy the accolades (or box office receipts) that they used to.

It’s no secret that there are a few Republican Senators who’ve raised the ire of conservatives. Folks like Murkowski, McCain, and Susan Collins have shown an almost preternatural ability to get under conservatives’ skin – voting against their own supposed ideals and propping up left-wing goals at every turn. We do not, however, attack them.

Everywhere you look, you see them: Panicked progressives and NeverTrumpers, running wild in the streets, screaming that the sky is falling. America – democracy itself – is doomed and soon we will awaken to find ourselves in a post-apocalyptic Mad Max hellscape. Once powerful pols and pundits will roam the barren land searching for seersucker and bowties, trying desperately to organize the kind of cocktail parties they used to enjoy.
Since day one, I’ve said that the confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh was a fait accompli. Barring a political miracle/disaster, I argued that Kavanaugh had a 100% chance of being the next Supreme Court Justice. his record was clear and there was simply no coherent way to deny his appointment. Red state Dems couldn’t afford to vote against him and, even if they wanted to, Harry Reid’s nuclear option probably ensured that the GOP already had the votes.
Just….wow. There are hot takes, and then there are takes so hot that you need an asbestos suit just to get near them without being incinerated. These aren’t ordinary hot takes. No, sir. These are takes that can’t be handled unless you have a pair of those giant iron tongs that blacksmith’s use to dunk red hot horseshoes in water.

Iowa kicks off the primary season with early caucuses, and anyone wanting to play a role in that election needs to have people on the ground a couple of years out. I don’t know if the Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee are trying to self-destruct, or if they’re just frazzled because they have no way to stop the Kavanaugh nomination. Either way, they’re embarrassing themselves on a spectacular level. As Dan mentioned a few minutes ago, Cory Booker was really proud of himself for releasing some confidential emails that he thought were going to be some sort of bombshell aimed at the nominee.
Earlier, Dan discussed the anonymous New York Times editorial that has the political world in a tizzy. It paints a picture of a barely-sane President, an administration working to control his radical impulses, and a government in crisis. At one point, it suggests that the President is unstable and there was consideration given to removing him via the 25th Amendment. At another it argues that he is both anti-trade and anti-democracy.
Back in July, the Democratic Party was rocked by the primary defeat of Rep. Joseph Crowley at the hands of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Crowley was a long-time liberal stalwart who was widely regarded as being on-track for bigger and better things. Rumors about his future included replacing Nancy Pelosi as Speaker should the Dems retake the House and, eventually, a run for the White House.
Congratulations Chicago. Your taxes may be soaring, your police may be completely overwhelmed, and your population has fallen for the third year in a row, but at least you won’t have to deal with Mayor Rahm Emanuel anymore. In a surprise announcement, Emanuel informed the city that it would be without his services in the near future.
Brace yourself for a day of posturing blowhards, hollow platitudes, shameless hypocrisy, media outrage, and ridiculous protests. The Brett Kavanaugh confirmation hearing starts this morning at 9:30 AM EST. Day one will not feature any questions. Instead, you’ll be treated to a statement from Kavanaugh, followed by a litany of praise and grievances from both sides of the Senate Judiciary Committee. It is, without question, going to be some of the worst theater anyone has seen since “Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark” premiered on Broadway.
I’ll admit it. When it comes to pointing out the insanity over at MSNBC, I’ve been slacking off a bit. Rest assured, this isn’t because there hasn’t been any craziness to cover. To the contrary, they’ve been on such a massive Trump derangement bender that it’s become overwhelming. Singling out a specific ridiculous moment on MSNBC has become akin to singling out a specific drop of water in the ocean.
Obviously, conservatives are fond of Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch. So far, they also like Brett Kavanaugh, whose confirmation hearings start next week. Voters like myself, who may not be particularly fond of President Trump on a style-level, have long argued that the real prize of the 2016 election was the Supreme Court. Had Hillary been elected, she would have radically shifted the court to the left, designer cases would have been brought forth immediately, and the 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 10th Amendments would have been gutted in short order.
