In Obama’s speech, a conservative call to arms

--Washington Times I found President Obama’s State of the Union address this week infuriating — and exhilarating. It was infuriating for all the usual reasons. For all the talk that this time things would be different, in the first State of the Union speech since the American people repudiated his entire agenda we got the same old Mr. Obama, arrogant, disdainful, defiant of the new Republican majorities and of the voters who sent them to Washington. Had there been a referee on the premises, he would have thrown a flag for taunting.

Gruber, Feinstein and the consequences of deceit

After years of deception and cover-up, the American people, through the hard work of their congressional representatives, finally learned the ugly truth this week about terrible acts done in their name but without their knowledge. While many of those responsible continue to defend their handiwork, the revelations are sure to leave a permanent stain on those in government who played any role in the atrocities revealed.

No time for a GOP surrender: A call to arms

Washington Times Nobody ever won a battle by surrendering. In the wake of the great Republican midterm triumphs, when the American people decisively rejected the agenda of President Obama and the Democrats, a depressing but age-old debate has broken out among Republicans over what to do with their victory. And, unfortunately, we’re already hearing voices counseling moderation — that we should run from a fight with the president before it’s even begun.

A war president whose heart isn't in it

I majored in biology, not psychology, in college, but I think you can tell a lot about this president by analyzing his body language during this very momentous week.

Uncertain trumpet: An anti-war president goes to war

Uncertain trumpet: An anti-war president goes to war
As the Congress and the country debate the momentous question of how to meet the threat posed by the Islamic State and other enemies in the war on terrorism, one thing has become increasingly clear: It’s impossible to conduct and win a war when you’re led by an anti-war president.

A day to remember, a war to fight

A day to remember, a war to fight, 9/11, Obama, Bush
When the first plane hit, I was participating in a press conference so insignificant I can't even recall what the topic was. But on that ordinary day, a beautiful fall morning in Washington, I was privileged to witness some of the most extraordinary and inspiring acts of courage and sacrifice of my entire life in public office. As our press conference proceeded on a little corner just outside the Capitol building, you could look down the Mall and see the smoke that was starting to come from the Pentagon.

Obama’s schedule, rhetoric belie world realities

Meetings, meetings meetings. You can tell a lot about a person from his appointment book, and that’s certainly true of our president this week. Meeting with Democratic supporters in Wisconsin one day and world leaders in Europe just a few days later, President Obama told us all we need to know about his administration’s shortcomings, in both foreign and domestic policy.

Liberal failures and the real lessons of Ferguson

Washington Times Clearly, something tragic happened during the confrontation on the street that day that left a young man dead and a community in chaos. Certainly, our hearts go out to the family and we can all hope that the investigation into what happened will be swift, thorough and fair to all parties.

Defending an ally and defending the Constitution

First published in the Washington Times First up, I think any friend of our embattled ally Israel has to be outraged by how President Obama and his top aides are treating the clashes now underway with Hamas in Gaza. From their very first responses to the crisis, you would almost think the administration was supporting the terrorists of Hamas over Israel.

Failed policy the real reason Obama skipped a border trip

First Published in the Washington Times In a funny way, you can totally understand why President Open Borders Obama decided in the end not to make the trip down to the border on his trip to Texas this week, to view for himself the failure of his immigration policy and the devastating results of his handiwork for Texas and the rest of the border states.

From King George III to King Obama I

First Published in the Washington Times The accumulation of all powers, legislative, executive and judiciary, in the same hands, whether of one, a few or many, and whether hereditary, self-appointed or elective, may justly be pronounced the very definition of tyranny."--James Madison, "The Federalist #47" For those of you looking to teach your children a little history this Fourth of July holiday, current events are supplying a very nice lesson. The Founding Fathers were dealing with a crisis brought on by the excesses of King George III. Today, we're dealing with another crisis brought on by the excesses of King Obama I.
