The Reason for the Hate

A lot of the time spent in political office is spent listening to other politicians pontificate. Some is spent, if you are an office holder like Sarah Palin was, and so was I, who would like to actually do something rather than just pontificate, futilely trying to get your fellow legislators to move beyond shoring up their campaign accounts. A good portion of the mess we are currently in is due to the “shoring up” style of politics.

I knew when I wrote the columns on Sarah Palin that they would generate a fair amount of reaction. So I wasn’t surprised by the sheer venom expressed by those who commented in the negative. One letter though, did take me aback slightly in that the writer brought the almighty into the fight:

“Ms. Palin is not the person she pretends to be. If you listen to people who know her and follow her history, the family is dysfunctional. the daughter Bristol was the mother. There were never any proper meals, Listen to the articles about how the family behaved in large department stores when they purchased so much clothing. A member of the Rep. party was to be sent to Alaska to obtain some of the money back. She is a sham and an oppurtunist. The western world would be at war 2 weeks after she took office if she ever became president. I have corrected none of the typos. Bad spelling and grammar are typical of the liberal writer. All of the lies expressed in the comment are the same DNC talking points dispensed as lefty Kool-Aid, probably grape-flavored per tradition so there is little point in yet again ripping more holes in an already drafty argument, but I wanted you to note that as per the 50 years old and running plan, the left has been successful in creating an army of drones. They cannot and will not think for themselves. They view being asked to work for a living as somewhat akin to slavery, fully expecting the mommy state to handle all of their needs as if they were still in diapers. You all know I have no love for Oprah Winfrey. I consider her to be little more than a shill for the Obama Dictatorship, but even a woman as shallow as she can hit it right sometime. Currently she is involved in the building and maintenance of schools for the poor in South Africa. She tried to do this work in the Southern US first. That stopped when it became apparent that those she wanted to help didn’t want it if strings such as “accomplishment” and “literacy” were attached. So people who actually value education got the money. This is typical of the current trend our government is pursuing. They want and need a dependent class to be permanently installed in the US. Creating self reliance is considered to be “counter productive” by both parties. How do I know this? Because I was told so by the leadership of my own party in Nevada, that’s why. Nevada has a real problem with illegal aliens; more so than even New Mexico and Arizona. One of the biggest problems is that many employers, who would be hiring citizens to do the work, don’t because they can get three undocumented’s for the price of one real American. I wrote a bill that would have done for Nevada what the same legislation did for Oklahoma. It didn’t even get to committee because, as I was told, “It would bankrupt the state”. The Republican Assemblyman who told me this, James Settlemeyer of Gardnerville, NV, was quite serious and when I asked him about the fact that the law was being broken on a daily basis, he just shrugged and smiled. This view was carried by the entire Republican caucus, except myself. They targeted me for removal in the next election cycle. The same type of enmity is carried against Mrs. Palin by the GOP because she did the same thing, only on a much larger scale. She stood up for the law, truth and the constitution, even if it cost her own party money because when it all comes down to basics, what is right is right. Money isn’t everything, not even if you’re a politician. As for the left, they hate her because she not only has proven that she is incorruptible, but because she is well-spoken, smart (most of the left aren’t), beautiful, faithful and devout. The left consider anyone who is unashamed of being Christian to be dangerous because they see all Christians as judging them. The leadership preaches this as if it was a dogma of liberalism. The reality could not be more removed from what they believe. As a conservative and a believing Christian, I could not care what goes on behind the walls of a liberal home as long as everything is done by the consent of the ADULT participants. That qualifier is what upsets so many ultra lefties because they know that if they do not seduce a child into their membership, the statistics show that their numbers will recede. Too frickin’ bad. I don’t care about whether or not certain currently PC practices survive or not. What I care about is whether or not we have a country safe for families with children in the next few years. I care whether or not a father can go to a job that is not only satisfying but pays a fair wage for the work done. I care whether or not people with innovative business ideas are given a level playing field with their competition, and not this phony leveling forced onto us called affirmative action. You don’t advance by giving the incompetent gold medals. No, the left and the corrupt hate people like Sarah Palin because they see the level of admiration people like that garner and it creates intense fear. It is like biting into a freshly picked apple for the first time after subsisting on imitations for years. There is no comparison.
