You betcha! The reader response to my article "
Palin/Bachmann in 2012?" was overwhelmingly favorable. Around 85%-90% of respondents to my survey wanted to know where they can get Palin/Bachmann buttons, beads, and bumper stickers. They are ready!
Except for a couple of mouth-frothing missives from readers who stumbled on my article on their way to the Daily Kos, the remainder of the respondents were mostly favorable, but with reservations.
A number of readers expressed their doubts about whether there will be legitimate elections held in 2010, let alone 2012.
The readers who were dubious about a Palin/Bachmann ticket, either suggested having neither of them on the ticket, or "flipping" the ticket to "Bachmann/Palin," or having one, but not the other, on the ticket.
Some readers felt that having two women on the ticket was too much, and suggested including a male candidate. Of the possible male candidates suggested, Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC) led the pack.
Other male candidates suggested included, Texas Governor Rick Perry, Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, Congressman Ron Paul, Chuck Baldwin (Constitution Party), and Glenn Beck.
Endorsing a Palin/Beck ticket might be worth it, for no other reason than to watch the apoplectic fits of sputtering disbelief from the liberal media.
Quite a few readers wanted to see another woman, former Marine Rayna Gangi, put on the ticket. With
statements like "I believe we should audit and close the Fed, get out of the UN, seize the banks who have stolen from us, and start fresh with a brand new Congress," one can see the allure.
In addition, readers submitted some suggestions for Cabinet members, including: Liz Cheney, Dr. Charles Krauthammer, Michelle Malkin, Ann Coulter, Star Parker, John Bolton, and Laura Ingram.
People seem to be sick and tired of the Republican Party doing nothing but defending the status quo -- especially since the status quo has crept inexorably to the left for many years. It is now at a point where the status quo is no longer seen as anything they consider worth holding.
The right-wing has been involved in nothing more than an organized rear-guard action for over a century. Seemingly with no better policy than, Retreat -- hold! -- Retreat, hold! -- Retreat...
People are fed up with it, and are demanding a fiscally responsible, aggressive, pro-active, pro-American, pro-free enterprise, pro-Constitution, pro-God movement. One that is not content to merely "hold the line," but one that is committed to taking back lost ground, and pushing forward with the dream envisioned by America's Founding Fathers.
Enough is enough. Time to advance.
