Turkish Paper Publishes Pictures of Beaten Israeli Commandos



The Hurriyet Daily News and Economic Review is a mass circulation daily newspaper in Turkey. It has an English edition as well as a Turkish language one and both are available on the Internet.

In its June 6, 2010 edition, the newspaper published a series of photographs taken on the Mavi Marmara on May 31, 2010 when the ship was boarded by Israeli commandos after attempting to break the Gaza blockade. In the end, nine of the activists on board the ship were killed and several Israeli commandos were injured. Despite videos released by the Israeli government that showed the commandos being attacked with metal bars and other weapons, most of the world blamed Israel for the deaths of the activists. More...
