Or...I'm Confused!

Global Warming… no Global Cooling… no Global Warming…NO, IT’S COOLING!!

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm totally confused. Our president speaks of global warming and the need to act, and to act now, before our planet ceases to exist. According to another planet savior, Al Gore, "the Obama administration has taken huge strides towards tackling climate change. Within one month of taking office Obama had secured $80 billion for renewable energy and green infrastructure." Gore himself claims "urgent action is needed for a problem not faced before." Or has it? Read on and see if you become as confused as I am?

Global Cooling:

"The discoveries of changes in the sun's heat and the southward advance of glaciers in recent years have given rise to conjectures of the possible advent of a new ice age." Time Magazine, September 10, 1924. "MacMillan Reports Signs of New Ice Age" The New York Times, September 18, 1923 "The possibility of another Ice age already having started... is admitted by men of first rank in the scientific world, men specifically qualified to speak." The Los Angeles Times, June 28, 1923

Global Warming:

"Gaffers who claim that winters were harder when they were boys are quite right... weather men have no doubt that the world at least for the time being is growing warmer." Time Magazine, Jan. 2, 1939 "America in Longest Warm Spell Since 1776; Temperature Line Records a 25-Year Rise" The New York Times, March 27, 1933 "Permafrost in Russia is receding northward up to 100 yards per year." Time Magazine, 1951 "Winters are getting milder, summers drier. Glaciers are receding, deserts growing." U.S. News and World Report, Jan. 8, 1954

Global Cooling.... Again?

"Scientists Ponder Why World's Climate is Changing; A Major Cooling Widely Considered to Be Inevitable" The New York Times, May 21, 1975 "Climatological Cassandras are becoming increasingly apprehensive, for the weather aberrations they are studying may be the harbinger of another Ice Age." Time Magazine, June 24, 1974 "North Atlantic sea temperatures declined, and shipping routes were cluttered with ice. Furthermore, the permafrost in Russia and Canada was advancing southward." The New York Times, December 29, 1974 "There is very important climatic change going on right now... It is something that, if it continues, will affect the whole human occupation of the earth--- like a billion people starving. Fortune Magazine, from Reid Bryson, February 1974

Back to Global Warming.....Confused Yet??

"About 10 million residents of Bangladesh will lose their homes and means of sustenance because of the rising sea level, due to global warming, in the next few decades." Al Gore, from 'Earth in Balance" 1992 "Billions will die," says Lovelock, who tells us he is not normally a gloomy type. Human civilization will be reduced to a "broken rabble ruled by brutal warlords", and the plague-ridden remainder of the species will flee the cracked and broken earth to the Arctic, the last temperate spot, where a few breeding couples will survive. The Daily Telegraph, February 2, 2006 "Scientists no longer doubt that global warming is happening, and almost nobody questions the fact that humans are at least partly responsible." Time Magazine, April 9, 2001 "Past Hot Times Hold Few Reasons to Relax About New Warming" The New York Times, December 27, 2005 The above facts and dates can be found at: businessandmedia.org So you see, the media has written on the dangers of global warming or cooling for almost a century. Guess what? The sun still rises in the east and sets in the west. The moon still goes through its phases from full-moon to new-moon and back again as always. Since Reid Bryson predicting "a billion people starving in 1974," the earth's population has increased by 2.5 billion. So, as you see, amid the steady proclamation of doom by the media, the politicians, and the scientists, life does in fact go on. Unfortunately the gloom and doom prophecies do so as well. John Holdren is President Obama's new Science Advisor. Holdren has spoken of tinkering with the Earth's climate to chill runaway global warming, and it's being discussed in the White House as a potential emergency option. This man is talking about "tinkering with the earth's climate to chill runaway global warming?" Who are these people, anyway? This sounds like Science Fiction Theater. I'm a pretty simple guy, but even I can see the potential for tremendous repercussions caused by such arrogance. And it truly is arrogance on their part. I honestly believe the academics in this administration, and heck they're all academics, feel that we're all a "few fries short of a Happy Meal" (a special thanks goes out to soon to be ex-Representative Alan Grayson, D-Fl. for this description, as according to a Fox News reporter interviewing Grayson, claimed his own colleagues once described him in this way). The problems we face today with these "academics" is that they feel they alone, are capable of making the decisions that impact our lives, good or bad. They're the power, and by that statement, it is their right to rule us as they see fit. They lead, we follow.  I've read, that in the Obama administration, of the people hired or appointed by the White House only 10 % had ever worked in private business. Ten percent! They don't even know how to make a payroll, much less run General Motors, plus take over health care? We've got to wake up people.  I mean we've just seen example after example of people predicting global cooling, then, global warming, and now we've got a science advisor telling us of an option of his to "fix" the global warming problem. Does anyone in our present administration even remotely consider the possibility that all this warming and cooling must be a regular cycle the earth goes through?? Some years, even decades may be worse than others? I believe since the earth's inception it's gone through four Ice Ages...but that too has been determined by an academic. Holdren goes on to explain that global warming is happening so rapidly is the reason behind his "tinkering with the environment" theory. One option raised by Holdren and a Nobel Prize winning scientist, Paul Crutzen, includes shooting pollution particles, sulfur particles like those produced by volcanoes, to mimic the effect of volcanoes in screening out the incoming sunlight. These people are in theory considering blocking out the sun's rays to cool the earth. They talk about it. It's discussed in the White House. These people are dangerous, really. Holdren himself has said there could be grave side effects. YOU RECKON?? One of the possible side effects they've studied suggests the eating away of a large portion of the ozone layer above the poles causing the Mediterranean and the Mideast to become drier. One thing that bothers other scientists is the side effects of such measures that they don't anticipate. Quite frankly, and I'm no scholar, it bothers me as well, a lot! Honestly, who could possibly know for sure the chain of events that might follow such theories if acted on...how about...God? The amazing thing about all this global warming talk we're being pounded with is the fact they don't know, yet daily there is more and more scientific findings that totally debunk their theories. This is all about redistribution of wealth, is there ANY policy anymore which isn't? As global levels of sea ice declined last year, many experts said this was evidence of man-made global warming. Since September, however, the increase in sea ice has been the fastest change, either up or down, since 1979, when satellite record keeping began. According to the University of Illinois' Arctic Climate Research Center, global sea ice levels now equal those of 1979. The above was taken from The New York Post article by George Will, on February 28, 2009 titled "Warming: A Panic Whose Time Has Passed." So, now you can see why I'm confused on the whole climate change issue. This is not an inevitable event calling for immediate action by the Holdren's, the Erhlich's, the Gore's, or the Obama's to save our planet from immediate destruction. It's just one other way to control people and their lives, as well as redistributing OUR wealth, not theirs! If this were in fact about redistributing their wealth, I'm betting the urgency declared by our progressive "friends" on this issue would suddenly become far less urgent. At the "climate talks" in Cancun, Mexico, taking place from Nov. 29 until Dec. 10th, host Mexico has focused on jump-starting the talks with an eye to restoring faith in the multilateral system for tackling climate change. Is it me, or do most of you feel Mexico just might have other more pressing issues...like the murders of over ten thousand of its own citizens over the past year by the cartels, many, many of whom were decapitated? Then we have Bolivian President Evo Morales fingering, what else, capitalism as the root of many of the problems facing the world, starting to sound pretty familiar now isn't it? The main problems I see that capitalism presents, is that it absolutely torments our socialist, dang it, I mean progressive friends, and the reasons of which are very simple. It provides a country's citizens, through the workplace, to better the quality of life for themselves and their families. It provides us with the opportunity to elect our leaders through a legitimate voting process. Most importantly though, it provides the population to have the right to bear and keep arms, and it presents the opportunity of the liberties and freedoms enjoyed by democracies such as ours, to be able to state loudly and clearly, STICK-IT," in regards to bad policy pushed by our politicians. I don't imagine the people of say, North Korea tell ole Kim Jong that very often, do you? I also doubt ole Kim loses much sleep frettin over global warming either! There ya go again, it ain't warmin, dang-it, it's coolin....No It Ain't!... God Bless!
