In the meantime, one that slipped by the news media has been taking place this week in Miami with Soros connections aplenty. The "Media2Movements" event, underwritten by the progressive
Knight Foundation, was part of a larger week long conference called the
"Social Venture Capital/Social Enterprise Conference" from
Sustainotopia. Funded by
Ashoka and others, they boasted of an attendance at over 700 leaders from 41 countries, so it was no small endeavor.
The
Media2Movements/Ashoka portion of the event consisted of a day full of programs on Wed., April 6th. Ashoka was founded by social enterpreneur guru
Bill Drayton, part of the roster of "visionary leaders" seen on the
Social Entrepreneur Empowerment page along with
Lynne Twist,
Van Jones and many others. (It's
just $147 to learn how to become a "love driven agent of social change," by the way.) Among the many "fellows" working with Ashoka, you will find the always-present
Van Jones. Soros' Open Society offers scholarship programs with Ashoka
here. In return, Ashoka promotes fellowships with Soros' Open Society Institute
here.
Among the six programs offered by Media2Movements were presentations by
Purpose.com and
Movements.org. You may remember Movements.org as being the
Google and U.S. State Dept. supported group that played such a big part in the Egyptian revolution. We are well aware of their skills when it comes to using the social media for radical action. But what about Purpose.com?
Purpose, a for-profit company, states on its web site that "Purpose creates 21st century movements. We look for ways that movements can help solve major global problems. To do this, we work with some of the most exciting players in the new green and social economy to help them get to scale faster and some of the world's biggest brands to mobilize their consumers for significant social impact," and goes on to say that its principals co-founded
Avaaz among other movements. Among the many projects coming from Avaaz, you'll find their
"Stop Rupert Murdoch" campaign. They also have a campaign going to
promote intervention in Libya.
It may come as no surprise to learn that Avaaz is supported by SEIU and MoveOn.org. According to the
Wikipedia entry:
Avaaz.org was co-founded by ResPublica, an American community of public sector professionals dedicated to promoting good governance, civic virtue and deliberative democracy, and MoveOn.org, an American non-profit progressive public policy advocacy group and political action committee. The organization was also supported by Service Employees International Union, a founding partner, and GetUp.org.au. Avaaz's individual co-founders include Executive Director Ricken Patel (a Canadian citizen living in New York), Virginia congressman Tom Perriello, Australian progressive entrepreneur David Madden, Jeremy Heimans (co-founders of Purpose.com), Andrea Woodhouse, Tom Pravda, and MoveOn Executive Director Eli Pariser.

Ricken Patel, co-founder of both Res Publica and current director of Avaaz. About Res Publica, DTN says:
RP is primarily an affiliation of three individuals -- Perriello, Patel, and Tom Pravda -- who undertake projects that seek to advance far-left agendas in governments around the world. RP specializes in "E-advocacy," or web-based movement-building.
Patel, in addition to his duties with RP, is also a co-founder of Faithful America (FA) and has served as a consultant for both the Gates and Rockefeller foundations.
RP's advisory board includes Zainab Bangura, former board member of the Open Society Institute West Africa; John Podesta, CEO of the Center for American Progress; and Eli Pariser, executive director of MoveOn.org.
..RP, in its early days, arranged conference calls with left-leaning religious leaders such as Robert Edgar, Jim Wallis, and Dave Robinson. These calls focused on strategizing against the religious Right. In addition, RP worked with the Center for American Progress, which was heavily invested in building the religious Left movement at the time.
RP has created a website called DarfurianVoices.org, or "The 24 Hours for Darfur Project" (originally, DarfurGenocide.org) -- dedicated to raising public awareness about the Sudanese government's genocide against black Africans in the Darfur region. The Open Society Institute and the U.S. State Department are among the project's "funders and collaborating partners."
Currently listed among thir
endorsers are John Podesta and Jim Wallis. Other Soros related groups are also listed in their "useful links".
It is quite clear that Res Publica, Avaaz and Purpose.org are active tools for the Soros agenda and were a major presence at this week's Miami conference. Tweeting back and forth with Movements.org contacts and appearing in the same segment of the conference, we have to question once again how strong the connections are between Soros, our State Department and major technological firms such as Google. It has been no secret how badly Soros has wanted to eliminate any form of competing media such as Fox News. Considering the fact that the progressives already control the majority of our media outlets, it is imperative that we be aware of their current move to control what's left. With the effort they are putting into media control in this week alone, they clearly see as vital to the completion of their global agenda.
