First time climate ignored in debates since 1984 – Obama in 'climate denial'?!

Climate RIP as political issue?!

Climate Depot's Morano: 'Global warming activists are justifiably outraged by Obama's climate silence...What happened? How did climate change get reduced to a comedic punch line in 2012? The answer is clear. The man-made global warming fear movement never overcame having a partisan figure like Al Gore being its public face and suffered from having the scandal ridden and distrusted UN IPCC as the source of its science'
Statement by Climate Depot publisher Marc Morano on 2012 Presidential race's climate silence: "It is very surprising to see three presidential debates and one Vice Presidential debate pass without a single mention of climate change. This is the first time this has happened since global warming hit the national stage in 1988. Global warming activists are justifiably outraged by this. After all, Obama declared in April of this year to Rolling Stone that he would make global warming a key campaign issue in 2012. Obama let down a key part of his political base by going silent on climate.

What happened? How did climate change get reduced to a comedic punch line in the 2012 presidential campaign? The answer is clear. The man-made global warming fear movement never overcame having a partisan figure like Al Gore being its public face and suffered from having the scandal ridden and distrusted UN IPCC as the source of its science. Adding to these woes is the global economic slowdown and the fact that the Climategate scandal had massive consequences on public opinion and there was a collapse of the UN climate treaty talks. In addition, the continued disintegration of the warmists climate claims by real world data and in the peer-review literature make attempting to scare the public into climate 'action' virtually impossible. Perhaps the most important factor in the climate silence in 2012 presidential race was a result of the forced vote in the House of Representatives to pass a cap-and-trade bill in 2009 which helped fuel the rise of the Tea Party movement in the U.S. No longer could a politician regurgitate the standard global warming claims of consensus and the need to 'act' without facing laughter and derision from angry crowds. It is finally time to say RIP man-made global warming fears in U.S. politics?" End Morano statement. Climate Depot Round Up: Climate RIP as political issue?! Warmists lament: 'No mention of global warming [in debates] for the first time since Congress was briefed on the threat in 1988' -- 'The backlash from anti-government conservatives led Obama to downplay his green agenda, delaying and weakening environmental regulations...Romney, meanwhile, responded to the rise of the Tea Party by backtracking on his earlier support for climate action as governor of Massachusetts. He also called for phasing out subsidies for the wind industry' What happened?! Flashback April 2012: Obama: Climate change will be a campaign issue -- Obama: 'I will be very clear in voicing my belief that we're going to have to take further steps to deal with climate change in a serious way' Watch Now: Fascinating video montage of Climate Change Discussions In Presidential Debates Since 1988 Obama accused of 'climate denial': Green party presidential candidate Jill Stein criticizes president's failure to address green issues -- Stein: 'We sure didn't hear him talking about climate in his debate...Whether he is a denier or just a silencer, he has certainly silenced any discussion of the issue that would motivate real solutions...The climate catastrophe that used to be generations away is rapidly closing in on us' -- An Obama 2nd term would amount to 'climate devastation with a friendly face and a warm endearing personality' Warmist Mother Goes Full Witchcraft on Climate: Two debates about 'domestic policy' and not one word has been uttered about the chaotic domestic weather we've been enduring' -- Dominique Browning: 'Not one word about our unreliable climate. Not one word about the pain & suffering visited upon millions of Americans because of runaway ghg pollution' Climate Depot Response: 'Are we supposed to care that our politicians are not talking about how they will fix our 'unreliable climate'? These poor deluded Moms actually seem to believe government can control the weather.' Obama campaign memo to activists: 'We're talking about climate' -- Obama's campaign is trying to dampen criticism from green activists -- 'A campaign email to activists Sunday evening, obtained by The Hill, tallies numerous instances of Obama talking about climate change on the stump. The compilation notes that there have been 15 mentions of climate change spread across a dozen speeches and remarks since July 23' Physicist: 'Climate hysteria in presidential debates RIP (1988-2008)' -- 'The 'soft landing' is a natural form of slow death for this opportunistic, frequently mutating disease of mankind' -- Dr. Lubos Motl: 'The accumulating years of experience showing that a panic is unjustifiable, the public's growing knowledge of the climate science, the 2009 ClimateGate, and the natural aging process have teamed up to guarantee that the climate panic hasn't been mentioned once in the 2012 presidential debates' 'Last Night's Presidential Debate Proves That Al Gore's Life Has Been In Vain' -- 'Sometimes silence can reveal more than words...silence reveals just how dead the issue now is' -- 'That Obama didn't feel the need to devote even a lame half-a-sentence to it in the 270 minutes of free airtime he has gotten shows what a remarkable fall this defining challenge of our generation has enjoyed' Al Gore on Climate Silence in the Debates: 'Where is global warming in this debate? Climate change is an urgent foreign policy issue' Time Mag's Bryan Walsh: 'It's difficult to blame either candidate for dropping climate talk in this election' -- 'Beyond committed environmentalists, there hasn't been much evidence that Americans even want to think about global warming, much less vote on it' Climate Change Not Mentioned In Presidential Debates For First Time In A Generation -- Warmist Brad Johnson: 'For the first time since 1984, the presidential and vice presidential debates have ignored the threat of climate change' NYT's Andrew Revkin implies Obama's secret agenda?! 'Is a little climate silence golden?' -- Revkin: ' 'Given how little progress has been made through years when global warming did come up, perhaps the silence this year signals a change?' -- 'After all, the reality is that Obama has moved pretty aggressively, if quietly, to roll out restrictions on greenhouse gas emissions through regulations, tighter standards for energy use and vehicle fuel economy and pursue policies fostering a shift from coal to gas' Obama Unites Global Warming Alarmists, Skeptics In Presidential Debates: 'We all acknowledge Obama is not being forthright about the reasons behind his energy policies' Wash Post: 'Obama touted increased production of oil & natural gas...It's nice that he didn't prevent this, but he can't reasonably take credit for technological & market shifts that enabled it' NYT rips Obama's claim that 'we've built enough pipeline to wrap around the entire earth once. So I'm all for pipelines; I'm all for oil production.' -- NYT rebuttal: 'Most of those were natural gas distribution lines to homes, offices and factories, not new pipelines to carry crude oil and natural gas from production fields. And the increase in pipeline mileage — in a nationwide system of more than 2.6 million miles – represents a gain of only about 1.5%' LA Times admits it: 'Obama's energy policies don't make a lot of sense without reference to the [alleged] carbon [dioxide] problem' -- '....and Romney's don't make any sense when one takes [climate change] into account...you can't justify the EPA's stepped-up regulations on coal plants without reference to climate change; if there were no such phenomenon, it would make no sense to cut back on greenhouse gases' Obama campaign defends debate silence on climate: 'By advocating for growth of renewable energy...Obama has continually called for action that will address sources of climate change' The New Yorker's Elizabeth Kolbert: 'Climate Change, The Debate's Great Unmentionable' -- 'Climate change has become to the Obama Admin. the Great Unmentionable, or, as the blogger Joe Romm has put it, The-Threat-That-Must-Not-Be Named. The problem with the sort of energy debate we saw on Tuesday is not just that it's fatuous, though it certainly is that. The problem is that you can't solve a problem if you don't even acknowledge it exists' Paper: 'Global warming hasn't been a point of contention in the presidential campaign. This is as it should be, because it's not a real issue' -- 'It isn't dead yet, but the global warming game is winding down. Fraud always has an expiration date.' Warmist Brad Johnson on debate: 'When Obama talks about energy without mentioning climate, he ignores the fundamental basis of his energy policy' Blast from the Past in: Where Are the 5 Million Green Jobs? Then candidate Obama set forth his plan to create 5 million green jobs in 2008 debate
