On behalf of LifeNews, let me thank you for the tremendous outpouring of support you gave us during the 2012 election season. It was a tremendous benefit to know we can always count on our readers for financial support to continue educating and informing the pro-life community.
If you're like me, you're surprised and disappointed by Tuesday's election results. There was a palpable sense that America was ready for something different than the Abortion President who has taken every opportunity to promote abortions and fund them with our tax dollars. Despite the best efforts of pro-life groups, hundreds of hours of dedicated hark work by millions of pro-life voters, and LifeNews working around the clock to keep the pro-life community armed with information about President Barack Obama's pro-abortion voting record and Mitt Romney's pro-life views, Americans voted for another four years of the Obama presidency.

Sadly, some pro-life advocates have not taken the defeat well. They are downcast and discouraged and feel that their efforts have not produced positive results. Let me assure you that the pro-life community has been down the road before and we will still ultimately prevail. In the political realm, the pro-life movement must continue as the loyal opposition in Washington. As President Obama and his pro-abortion allies feel emboldened by the election results, we must work with our pro-life allies in the House of Representatives to mitigate as much of the Obama abortion agenda as possible. In the Senate, intense battles over Supreme Court nominees will demand your attention in the second Obama administration. As you've read from LifeNews' post-election reports, pro-life groups experienced significant success in electing pro-life members of state legislatures -- where more pro-life laws to protect babies before birth have been approved in the last two years than at any other time since Roe v. Wade. In every state in the nation, your help is needed to continue putting more laws in place that have reduced abortions in some states to as much as 50 percent. That's a lot of lives saved! And outside of the political arena, the pro-life passion remains alive and well. Through the educational activities we undertake, the work of pro-life groups focused on shutting down abortion centers that fail to follow the law, the excellent work of pregnancy centers and abstinence education programs, and the dedicated support pro-life people provide pregnant women outside of abortion centers, there is still so much to be done. And LifeNews will continue to be there right along with you -- as we report on the work of pro-life groups in the U.S. and around the world that are working together to change the culture and move hearts and minds in the pro-life direction. We hope you will join us in renewing your dedication today to the pro-life cause. If you haven't volunteered for a local pro-life group or pregnancy center, consider doing so now. If you've never prayed at an abortion clinic, maybe now is the time. If you can minister to women who have exercised the pain and regret of an abortion and need to find forgiveness and reconnect with God, post-abortion ministries need you today. And LifeNews needs you. As we share encouraging stories or disappointing defeats, as we educate and motivate you or call on you to help contact legislators, or respond to a critical battle the pro-life movement is facing, we need your help. Please continue to utilize LifeNews' pro-life reporting to educate yourself, your friends and family, your church and community. Share our stories on Twitter, Facebook or other social media, email them to people you know, and print them out or share them in your church bulletin or pro-life newsletter. As we move forward with this renewed dedication to saving babies, will you join us with a financial commitment? We could use your help with a donation of $25, $50 or $100 today to continue the professional, up-to-the-minute news reporting you expect from LifeNews. Please click on this link to make a quick and easy electronic donation to us. Or you can use the form below to send us a check by mail. Thank you again for your tireless efforts this election season, and together we will continue saving every life we possibly can.
