The rear view mirror in my wife's Fiat Punto suddenly fell off and there were a plethora of choices that could repair it.

Caroline went to Halfords, where the staff recommended a product that failed to do the job, so they refunded the money. It was at this point that we stumbled across Loctite rear view mirror bonder. Firstly thoroughly clean the area of screen where the mirror will be affixed. Use white spirit to remove any old adhesive. Start the engine and switch and make sure hot hair is blowing out of the fans onto the windscreen. The environment needs to be room temperature so that the adhesive quickly sets. Cut the Loctite mesh out to the desired shape of the button that attaches the mirror to the screen. Open the Loctite adhesive and spread it across the button and then fully immerse the mesh in the adhesive on the button. Place the mirror on the windscreen and hold it for one minute. Miraculously the mirror quickly stays in place as you can see from the video at testdrives.biz. It then has to be left for 15 minutes before adjusting the mirror. Et voila one perfect rear view mirror and my wife can safely drive again. For more information visit: www.loctite.co.uk
