Showing Liberty the Door

It is a sad irony at this time when Thanksgiving Day is being celebrated in America, that one of the things Americans had to be most thankful about – their liberty – is going away. It is not simply in danger of going away, as it was throughout the last century and over the last thirteen years; it is on its way out.
Through propaganda, education, disinformation, indoctrination, and imposed ignorance, the political left has succeeded in subverting a segment of the American population sufficient to ensure their political power in perpetuity. With the re-election of closeted communist Barack Obama as President, and nothing save an unmotivated and impotent opposition party feigning efforts to stand up for America’s founding principles, socialists in America essentially have carte blanche vis-à-vis advancing their agenda for the foreseeable future. Although there are those among the electorate who supported Obama who would eagerly vote for a Republican the next time around should things continue on their current dismal course, the problem lies in the fact that the governing class, if you will (including the Republican Party), has become so corrupted that any checks realized after 2016 will probably be too little too late – and this is assuming there is an administration and a Congress who are inclined to implement those checks. As for those among the electorate who think they know what they’re getting (whether it be an end to the evils of capitalism, white dominance, and Christianity, or simply entitlements), these could prove to be formidable enemies in the future, since the numbers of these are increasing rather than decreasing. Ignorant of America’s history, imbued with the belligerence of the entitled, and with the support of the leftist government-media complex it is also these people who will be demonstrably dangerous should America experience the sort of challenges that some European nations are now facing.

As impossible as it is for the average American to conceptualize, the class of people who represent America’s current administration will honestly relish seeing average Americans suffer, because they spent their entire adult lives hating Americans. The charge that America generated its prosperity on the backs of workers and through imperialist practices is of course a pretext; the ultimate goal of socialists and communists is the power they never could have achieved through a merit-based system. Indeed, most if not all of the individuals in Obama’s cabinet had the opportunity to do just that, but chose not to attempt to do so. It is a common story among most communist leaders. The irony is of course that those who hate America, whether at home or abroad, have generally based their hatred upon the actions and policies of our leaders, whose character often doesn’t reflect that of the American people. It is arguable that this is itself the fault of the American people, at least in part, but it is undeniable that big government elites of one stripe or another have been devious and insidious. Imposing their will upon the American people and anyone else affected by their actions for the last century, rather than governing, they have ruled. Thus, their actions were quite often antithetical to the will of the people and America’s founding principles, fostering enmity abroad, compromising America economically, and stultifying individual achievement. Unfortunately, now more than half of all Americans are too ignorant to know what those founding principles were, let alone what they meant, and how they could salvage the nation if employed once again. Had citizen militias or the government gunned down communist marchers in the streets during the 1930s and 1940s, America would not be in this position today, although we might still have our hands full with soft-socialist big-government types. Obviously, this could not occur given the perception of communists’ rights as Americans to embrace and express such thought, even though it was tantamount to allowing a diseased segment of the population wander untreated for decades for the sake of preserving their personal liberty. Many such as myself have gone from having concern that things would end badly for America as we know it to being pretty much convinced that this is the case. The objective now seems to be the preservation of the ideas and ideals of America, rather than the nation itself. The methods by which individuals and communities will endeavor to do so will of course vary, but I would wager that conflict and aggression, whether amongst Americans ourselves, or between Americans and our government, is in our future.
