One must ask why McGuinty and the Liberals are still going forward with their failed energy experiment as they have canceled 2 new gas plants at a cost of up-to 1 billion a piece then the lawsuits for their canceled wind farms.
The auditor general has stated Ontario has lost 1.8 billion dollars over the last 6 years exporting power to Quebec and the Americans while Ontarians are paying more for their hydro. In the first 10 months alone in 2011, Ontario lost 420 million exporting power to Quebec and the Americans.
McGuinty is still paying up to 80 cents a kilowatt for wind power on 20-year contracts. How does this benefit Ontarians?
The Auditor General has stated that for every green job created Ontario has lost 2-4 jobs somewhere else.
How can McGuinty and the Liberals believe higher hydro rates are good for Ontario as it it driving business out of Ontario and is forcing people to choose paying their hydro bill or buying groceries? Then we have the inconvenience of the Smart Meter.
When McGuinty started this failed experiment he stated all coal plants would be shut down by 2007 and our hydro rates would only rise by 1% a year. But rates are rising between 8-10% a year.
So why do the Liberals choose to ruin Ontario with this failed experiment? And let's face it; this experiment will not come in on a budget of 87 billion dollar as McGuinty said. My guess is it will be close to double this at 174 billion dollars as nothing ever comes in on budget but much closer to double the original figures.
Elections Ontario documents show local utilities, including Essex Power and Oakville Hydro, have donated thousands of dollars to the Ontario Liberal Party in the past few years.
Other public utilities donating to the Liberals included Thunder Bay Hydro, Greater Sudbury Hydro Plus, St. Catharines Power Generation and Niagara-on-the-Lake Hydro.
Who can quit a job and collect $313,461. severance pay besides McGuinty?
