Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest deals with “mild” flu symptoms

Sweating out the flu in an outside hospital tent

Authorities will go to almost any length to ‘panic pandemic’ populations to make them think the flu is going to take them out. And this time it’s before the UN scare-mongering WHO (World Health Organization) chimes in.
This morning the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest in Allentown, Pa. “had to” open an emergency space to care for the increased number of people with flu-like symptoms, reports NBC10’s Katy Zachry. “Had to” open an emergency space even though patients admitted were suffering from “mild” “flu-like” symptoms. The “emergency space” provided by the hospital is a “mobile surge tent”. In layman’s language, a tent, set up right outside the hospital’s emergency department. “The State Department of Health reports that four Pennsylvanians have already died of complications from the influenza virus.(NBC10, Jan. 8, 2013).

“It’s the most miserable time of the year for many people in the area. Flu season is in full effect and this one in particular is shaping up to be more extreme than usual." According to the hospital the necessity for the outside tent is for the flu patients’ and hospital staff’s safety. Everyone inside and outside is masked, with some perhaps toque’ed and woolyed-up. "If we can remove them from the main ED and put them in (an) environment where everyone is masked and everyone can be protected, it's safer for them and certainly safer for the staff," said Terry Burger, hospital director of infection control. “Officials say a similar measure was taken during the H1N1 flu a few years ago.” In fairness to the accommodating Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, which “had to” provide the emergency space, enough people with “mild” flu symptoms “had to” turn themselves in to their local hospital. Allentown, Pa, is about 15 miles north of Valley Forge, as the crow flies. Valley Forge was the winter camp of George Washington’s troops, who weathered the winter of 1777-78. “On Dec. 19, 1777, when Washington’s poorly fed, ill-equipped army, weary from long marches, staggered into Valley Forge, winds blew as the 12,000 continentals prepared for winter’s fury. Only about one-third of them had shoes, and many of their feet were leaving bloody footprints from the marching. Alternating freezing and melting of snow and ice made it impossible to keep dry and allowed for disease to fester.” (Wikipedia). Temperatures in Allentown this morning registered at 34F with winds making it feel like 21F. In these temperatures, patients going to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest suffering from “mild” flu symptoms will be treated in the outside tent. Is someone pushing the panic button on a flu pandemic, starting in Allentown, Pa, or is this reporter just having a conspiracy theory moment?
