Abuse of the American taxpayer

Public Servants, My Aching B___!

Many individuals in government refer to themselves as ‘public servants’. When you think of someone being a servant, isn’t he/she supposed to be subservient to the wishes of his/her employer? Isn’t the American public the employer for those in government? With how those in government conduct themselves, how could any one of them consider himself/herself a public servant? Public servant, my aching b___!
Federal politicians have bastardized the term ‘public servant’ and it is time that ‘we, the people’ demand our rightful position as our politicians’ employer. What changes might we make that would lead us to genuine representative government and prevent the building of mini-kingdoms and considerable wealth just for being in elected office? The first step is to pass Amendment 28, making those who write, support and pass legislation subject to this legislation, just as the populace is. This amendment must be retroactive so that we are being ‘fair’ to the rest of us. ZERO exemptions, from the President on down the line. This should insert some needed common sense into all legislation by those within our Federal government. How would this affect the implementation of ObamaCare and the gun control rancor, if they and/or their staffers and security personnel were forced to live under their legislation?

We can also eliminate the ‘Attending Physician of the United States Congress’. This abuse of the American taxpayer allows member of both Houses of Congress, members of the SCOTUS, five delegates and the Resident Commissioner of Puerto Rico to access phenomenal healthcare for a paltry $503.00 per year ... not per month, per year! It is also made available for emergency care of staff members, security personnel and dignitaries at the expense of the American taxpayer. Of course, you probably have heard about this ‘perk’ from your Representative and/or Senators at their Townhall Meetings and in their ‘franking’ junk mailings! Yeah, right! Franking privileges must be altered dramatically, too. Elected Representatives and Senators have erected a barrier to protect themselves from challengers to their office by using franking privileges to send incessant junk mail to keep their names in front of a distracted public. While a modest sum might be appropriate for communicating with those one has sworn an oath to serve, additional mailings must come from a politician’s salary. This cost can be tax-deductible, akin to those who work in the private sector, and it will prevent elected politicians from abusing the American, state and district taxpayers. In addressing campaign contributions, once an election is over, any remaining money must be returned to contributors on a pro-rata basis. This will help with oversight of contributions, but the major benefit of this is to prevent elected politicians from building enormous financial war chests for future elections, or to be used in retirement. How many untrusting Americans would volunteer (for a reasonable fee) to oversee the transparency of this effort? When a politician is elected governor or President, they are provided a home in which to live. Why don’t state taxpayers do the same for their Representatives and Senators? Taxpayers can buy a home for their Representative from their district and a home for each Senator from their state. This would strip Representatives and Senators from claiming that they need increased incomes to pay for two residences (their existing home and one in D. C.), or living within their office. In fact, we could reduce elected politicians’ salaries for not having to pay for two residences. Now it’s time for the good stuff! Elected politicians must be required to send their children to public school, but not just any public school. They must send their children to the poorest performing public school within their district. Do you think politicians would be more focused upon genuine education of all students when their children are peers to those who have been abused by our haughty politicians for decades? Let’s not stop here. No additional taxes or reassignment of highly regarded teachers is to be allowed. Innovation of our public school regimen towards genuine education, not indoctrination, is the focus of this requirement. If a candidate doesn’t like this requirement, he/she doesn’t need to run for office! How many individuals have been President, VP, members of the House and Senate and the SCOTUS since 1974, when the Congressional Budget Act of 1974 was enacted, requiring the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to prepare projections of Federal spending for the next fiscal year based upon the continuity of the current level of governmental services? This weak puke evasion of responsibility by Congress has led to the ever-escalating cost of government, regardless of tax revenues collected. This contributes mightily to why there is never a reduction in actual Federal spending. Also, since 1974, how many registered lobbyists and staff members have been employed by American taxpayer money, and/or generated sizable incomes at the trough of the American taxpayer , knowing all along how the American taxpayer was being abused? Wasn’t Social Security supposed to be separate from the General Fund? Why wasn’t it kept separate? Isn’t there an enormous amount of fraud in Social Security and even more flagrant fraud within the Medicare and Medicaid programs? Shouldn’t those who have abused and are abusing the American taxpayer be held accountable for their malfeasance and graft against the American taxpayer? The following will be very controversial and will be dismissed as a pipe dream and extremist, but consider that this is not tied to either party or any ideology, other than that those in D. C. are supposed to be accountable to the taxpaying citizens of our republic and this is an effort to restore that accountability. Consider the fact that over forty cents of every dollar currently being spent is borrowed money and there is zero real effort to reduce actual Federal spending. The insanity must stop, now! We must reverse the 27th Amendment, or revise it so that those who refuse to act according to the constitution for political purposes are not compensated ‘even one dime’ while this abuse occurs. Also, money will not be escrowed to be paid once action is taken; it is lost forever! In addition to the theft, fraud and abuse embedded within Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, how many departments and agencies are in existence in defiance of Amendment X to our Constitution? Not only is there too much concentration of political power within D. C., but there is no incentive to act according to the constitution when there is no penalty for not doing so. Wouldn’t it be awesome to seize the assets, less $2,000.00, of every politician, lobbyist, and staff member who has served in D. C. since 1974? Their assets can be liquidated and used to replace the money spent or lost due to fraud and malfeasance under their collective watches! For those who have passed away, we can seize the assets of their widows, widowers and/or children. After all, isn't the reason Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid must be ‘reformed’ due to the fraudulent spending under their watch and the average taxpaying citizen will be forced to do with less because of the actions of those inside D. C.? Eliminating the jackbooted storm troopers of the EPA, NEA, DOE, etc. would also eliminate the ability of elected politicians to circumvent the constitution by dictating an agenda when the agenda stalls within the legislative branch of our constitutional government! Think of the savings to the private sector taxpayer when the non-constitutional agencies and departments, with their excessive salaries and benefits are eliminated! Think of the benefits of having the concentration of power by lobbyists centered within D. C. being forced to fan out to the fifty state capitols across this great nation! Who knows, those atop our government might even pursue legislation and taxation that would create an environment in which our economy would be designed for vibrant growth and revitalized employment! Public servants are not to live so far above those they serve and dictate to those they have sworn to serve while exempting themselves from their own legislation. In the court of public opinion, those who have ‘served’ have helped themselves and their friends at the expense of the American taxpayer. Don’t you believe it is time to right the wrongs foisted upon us by so many for so long? Our Founding Fathers authored our constitution with a design to stand the test of time, as long as those in office don’t destroy our republic from within. Those who are destroying our constitutional republic are not public servants, they are traitors, and those who stand by while the destruction is done are equally culpable. God bless America and those public servants who honor their oath of office to their constituents and to our constitution. For all the rest, the bill has come due, and isn’t it the patriotic thing to do to pay for your sins against the American taxpayer?
