Bob Woodward is vindicated by the man who allegedly "threatened" him

White House finally admits, Obama admin created the sequester



If a conservative dares to point out that Obama created the sequester, they're instantly inundated with a barrage of negative comments. The liberal counterargument is, invariably, "No he didn't, this is John Boehner's doing - he passed it so he could protect his evil, greedy, rich pals." They ignore the fact that Obama signed it into law, and they also ignore that he promised to veto any legislation that sought to replace the sequester with a different plan.

They also ignore Bob Woodward's reporting on the matter, which indicated that Jack Lew wrote the sequester, Obama signed off on it, and the administration sent it to Congress. This morning on Meet the Press, David Gregory had a chance to question White House economic adviser Gene Sperling regarding the President's claim that the sequester wasn't his idea and Obama's promise that the cuts would never come to pass. After a long attempt to dodge the question, Sperling is forced to admit that, while Republicans were demanding cuts, the implementation was a White House creation. "Yes," he said of the sequester. "We put forth the design of how to do that." Keep in mind that this is the same Gene Sperling who Bob Woodward claims threatened him after reporting the facts that Sperling is now forced to concede are true. Even if you believe Sperling's "threat" was overstated, he still indicated that Woodward would "regret" his reporting due to its supposed factual inaccuracy. Here's the tape:
