Criminal act

Speakin’ Out

We are dealing with the consequences of what I believe is the greatest criminal act in American history. While it is clear who some of those most responsible for it are, it will take generations to unravel the tangle of perpetrators, willing accomplices, and didn't-have-a-clues who were involved.
The leading perpetrators of it, though, are those Democrats who, after the election of a willing accomplice into the White House in 2008, led their majorities in the Senate and the House of Representatives to pass unconstitutional legislation that was then signed into law by the President. These laws, supposedly reforming health care and health insurance industry and the financial system, as well as other areas, could signal the coming end of any semblance of representative, constitutional government. In 2008, the election of the most leftist President in history opened the door for this. His election was a clear signal to those who desired it that the time for the dismantling of representative government in the greatest country in history was at hand.

The way had also been prepared by Republican majorities in the House and Senate and a Republican presidential administration and their abandonment of fiscal responsibility. Their out-of-control spending led to voters rejecting their leadership in the federal government, voting them out of office and bringing Democrats back into majorities in 2006. Now, week after week, we see closed-door meetings between the President and Congressional leaders in which they come up legislation intended to be passed without the involvement of the American citizenry. Knowing that what they are proposing will be rejected by us if opened up to national debate, they wait until it becomes a crisis situation then tell us their proposed legislation has to be passed immediately. That effectively shuts down the governmental process as laid out in our Constitution, with those whom we have elected to represent us having no chance to take the proposed legislation to us, their constituency. While correct labels for what our government is actually becoming get lost in rhetorical arguments, it is clear that it includes greater centralized government control of things and less involvement of the American citizenry. However, this slide toward what can only end up as tyranny is by no means a settled fact. There are ways we need to make our voices heard. As the consequences of these new laws, particularly Obamacare, begin to take effect more and more, people will be looking to vote for a change in Congress in 2014. But there needs to be candidates who will join with Congressman Huelskamp and others and call out President Obama and his administration for their failures and their attempts to mislead the American people. We need true conservative Republicans to step up to the plate to run in next year’s primaries against those Republicans who actually help perpetuate the liberal/left agenda by not standing up against the disastrous Obama agenda.
