Worried about your health care privacy? Relax! Obama is setting up an 800 number . . .

So you're all worked up because you're now getting demands from the federal government that you "submit your information" to the ObamaCare exchange, which is all for your own good, you understand, because that way they can hook you up with just the right ObamaCare insurance, work out your federal subsidy . . . it's lovely. You should be champing at the bit to give them that information.
What kind of action have you been getting lately? And with whom? But you're apprehensive. Once you give the ObamaCare exchange your information, how do you know it will be protected? Surely, they must have some mechanism to ensure that, right? Some process. Some protocol. Something they've tested. Something that's been proven effective. Right? Right? Suckers!
White House officials plan to unveil a toll-free telephone number (800-318-2596, TTY 855-889-4325) that will connect consumers to a federal call center for reporting fraud or attempted identity theft under the new health care law. They also plan to promote several other initiatives, including a new computer system that will verify Americans' identities to prevent taxpayer-funded subsidies from going to criminals. On Oct. 1, millions of people without access to job-based health care will be able to enroll online through new state insurance markets for coverage effective at the start of next year. Adding millions more people to the health care system is bound to create new opportunities for identity thieves and scam artists. In Chicago, one advocate said that legitimate door-to-door outreach to inform people about the Affordable Care Act may open up opportunities for swindlers. "I don't know how we're going to distinguish between legitimate outreach and scams," said Erin Weir of AgeOptions, suburban Cook County's lead agency on aging. "I am being told that legitimate people will have IDs and badges. But a savvy scam artist could mimic something like that."
An 800 number. Fantastic. I bet you feel better now. Plus, if you'll notice the emphasis in the reporting, they seem more concerned with making srue the wrong people don't grab your subsidy than they are about protecting the privacy of the health information they are demanding you submit. Higher up in the story, we're told that Eric Holder, Kathleen Sebelius and other Obama Administration all-stars are getting together this week " to discuss security measures designed to keep scammers and identity thieves from taking advantage of" the information being submitted thank to ObamaCare. They're getting together to discuss security measures just now? Two weeks before implementation? Well, at least there's an 800 number. "Get her. That was your whole plan, Ray.
