imageIt’s two days after the US presidential election, and the mainstream media is still shoveling out the propaganda. Having gotten away with calling a predicted landslide that never happened, they’re now elevating two-day-old, USA President-Elect Barack Hussein Obama as…”President of the World”. The only news of emerging world presidents is Vladimir Putin’s plot to return as Russian president.

Stocks continue their post-election plunge, Mickey Mouse is going broke over at Disney’s, and the United Auto Workers are urging a $25-billion cash infusion. Michelle Obama has her byline in a Times.com story entitled, “My No. 1 Job as First Lady is to be First Mom”. Mainstreamers like Chris Matthews are getting that familiar tingle down the leg, hoping for an invite to the Inaugural Ball. BO’s Auntie Zeituni is missing from her Boston slum and no one seems to much care. Fifty-seven million voters who did not want their country turned over to Socialism by a jumped up community organizer, are pondering why the media is not closing in on stories that matter, like did ACORN really steal the election for the president-elect, or how soon will “The Messiah” be going forth with a Bill Ayers manufactured Socialist agenda? Boycott the New York Times editor Don Feder laments that the NYT continues to misrepresent John McCain while displaying a profound ignorance of basic economics. “When President Obama and a Democratic Congress take a wrecking ball to the economy over the next two years, who will the New York Times then blame for the resulting debacle? Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity or Sarah Palin,” Feder asks. And after a two-year election campaign with no hard questions put to Obama, it now seems that FoxNews is running with the mainstream media wolf pack. How else to explain how this last bastion of press freedom is packaging gossip as news? Citing unidentified McCain campaign aides, Fox’s Chief Political Correspondent Carl Cameron broke a story on Tuesday that folk are “claiming Sarah Palin was unaware of the countries involved in NAFTA and believed Africa to be a single nation”. The popular Alaska Governor was also accused by anonymous campaign aides of throwing temper tantrums. Fox apparently knew before Election Day, but went along with its sources’ wishes to keep it under wraps until the end of their dismal campaign. This from the network, which rides on the slogan: “We report, You decide.” Count Fox out on reporting anything significant about the newly minted President of the World, as Cameron promised there will be an avalange of more Palin gossip in coming days. There are some who contend that 2008 will go down as The Year That Journalism Died. Journalism has been moaning from death’s bed for a long time. It’s just that the corpse started to smell when the mainstream media jumped into the tank with Obama. The only relief for Americans who depend on the networks and their hometown newspapers for the news is knowing for certain that the mainstream media now dominates both the red side of the political spectrum and the ledger. Folks are tuning out on television networks like MSNBC, which had the dubious distinction of being “the official network of the Obama camp.” The NYT, the LA Times, the Boston Globe et al are down millions in revenues, and some of the giants of the print media are turning in a panic to the Internet, an arena already better at informing readers first through the Drudge Report and NewsMax.com. That’s not even to mention on-the-ball bloggers, who are always ahead of the MSM. Meanwhile the President of the World is holed up in his Chicago mansion handpicking his cabinet like a man boy playing with toy soldiers. Senator Obama’s first press conference as president-elect should be a breeze tomorrow with mainstream media types docile as they hold out for seats at the banquet table with Barbra Streisand, Barbara Walters and Oprah. The stardust powder is fast falling off the man about whom the New York Times now says it’s okay to use his middle name. All we have left is to ponder is will the mainstream media report it when people who expect to have their mortgage and gas bills paid discover that not only can “The Messiah” not walk water, but he may need it as a getaway for his escape. Meanwhile Americans writing to CFP are asking if we will keep the spotlight on Obama. The answer is yes. The spin doesn’t stop here because we never had it.
