Maryland's Democrat Governor: Don't deport illegal kids but, whatever you do, don't send them to Maryland

UPDATE: O'Malley's people are now trying to claim that they're simply worried about the saftey of the illegal kids. Western Maryland is, in O'Malley's words, "a conservative part of the state" and these poor children could be in danger there. Anyone buyin' that? No? OK.
Last week, Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley made waves when he said the following:
“We are not a country that should turn children away and send them back to certain death…. Through all of the great world religions we are told that hospitality to strangers is an essential human dignity.”
O'Malley has voiced his interest in being a 2016 Presidential candidate, and many saw this as an attempt to place himself to the left of Hillary Clinton - an obvious effort to build a little cache among the Dems' left-wing base. Indeed, faux concern for "the children" is the go-to justification Dems use for virtually all of their radical agenda items, so it makes sense. We need to ban guns for "the children."

We need to pay more taxes to help "the children." We need to deal with climate change for "the children." About the only thing we don't need to do for "the children" is address the national debt - which is odd, since it's the one thing absolutely guaranteed to impact them. Hours after his initial comments, O'Malley had a somewhat different take. Oh, he still wants the kids to stay in the U.S. ....just so long as they don't wind up in his state. From CNN:
"He privately said ‘please don’t send these kids to Western Maryland,’” a Democratic source told CNN. The heated discussion between O’Malley and White House domestic policy adviser Cecilia Munoz occurred during a phone call late Friday evening, sources familiar with the conversation added. HHS has since scuttled the plan for the Western Maryland site, an O’Malley official said."
So, Martin O'Malley believes that sending illegal immigrant kids home would mean "certain death" but God forbid he save them by bringing them to Maryland. That's some high end hypocrisy! It's the Bentley of hypocrisy... The Iranian Beluga Caviar of hypocrisy... The Faberge Eggs of hypocrisy.... ...And it's standard operating procedure for Democrats who want to ram something unpopular down the American people's throat.
