The purveyors of Climate Change do not understand how there could be any opposition: They are fully prepared to prosecute you and imprison you for daring to be a voice of dissent

Fooling You To Save The Planet

They say, "The road to Hell is paved with good intentions." When those good intentions are made to look like good intentions, but are really a ruse to create more government control, the road to Hell, I am sure, takes a fast-track. I was reading about a "contentious" interview President Barack Obama had on 60 Minutes, and I marveled at the line that Obama said, after being challenged about Putin taking the leading role in fighting ISIS in the Middle East. "My definition of leadership would be leading on climate change, an international accord that potentially we'll get in Paris." He then added, "My definition of leadership is mobilizing the entire world community to make sure that Iran doesn't get a nuclear weapon."

That last part was strange to me, since his Iran Deal better enables Iran to get a nuclear weapon. Obama's first part of defining leadership, the top of his priority list, is "Climate Change." Man-made Global Warming (by another name) is the idea that human activity has altered global temperatures, and if we don't immediately allow the governments to take control and regulate our energy usage and drastically reduce our carbon emissions, the planet will go into a fantastical downward spiral of apocalyptic proportions. Does the planet warm and cool? Of course it does, and I have no problem believing that in our lifetimes we are seeing evidence of these swings in temperature. Changing temperatures and altering climate is a norm in history. Throughout the life of our little blue planet we have seen periods of excessive heat, ice ages, and eras of moderation. Climate temperatures do change, but the reality is that these periods of global warming and global cooling are natural. Even now, the Climate Change models are being proven to be in error, and the reality is, Carbon Dioxide does not drive the climate. It's the other way around. Human activity spews only a small percentage of the total emissions of carbon dioxide into the air, and other planets in our Solar System, without the aid of human activity, are also experiencing the same warming (and cooling) trends that Earth is experiencing. Oceans and volcanoes are the largest culprits. Carbon is an essential element. We are made up of carbon. Plant life uses carbon dioxide for survival, converting it into the oxygen we breath. Carbon dioxide is not a poison, it is a part of nature. As for our insignificant contribution, worrying that our minuscule offering of carbon into the air is influencing the overall climate would be like riding a motorcycle and worrying that a fly bouncing off your helmet would knock you off the bike. The purveyors of Climate Change do not understand how there could be any opposition. They've prepared the argument so well. How can anyone be against saving the planet? And if you are still willing to stand in opposition to them, they are fully prepared to prosecute you and imprison you for daring to be a voice of dissent.
