Getting the scoop

Wednesday, November 28th, 2007

It was one of those Red Letter days for Canada Free Press yesterday. Our cover story, about Al Gore pal’s eco-warrier ship sinking in sensitive Antarctic waters was picked up by radio greats Michael Savage, Rush Limbaugh and a bevy of blogs.
Best of all was the reference on Digg it…”Judi McLeod of Canada Free [...]

The Cowboy in the Orient

Monday, November 26th, 2007

Canada Free Press (CFP)  ad manager, Jim Whelan, known fondly by all as “The Cowboy” sends  regular emails to CFP from his Palm Beach office.
On several occasions his emails the day before have announced his intention to pop into town for breakfast or lunch the following day, “just to touch base”.
Whether cantering on a horse [...]

Perfuming Pooches

Wednesday, November 21st, 2007

My friend Toronto Sun columnist Peter Worthington once told me that the Brits are a dog society, who love their pets more than the children.
When tuned in to Savage Nation last night, my favourite radio guy Michael Savage was lamenting the excesss in a Christmas catalogue for pets he had been leafing [...]

Beloved Infidel

Tuesday, November 20th, 2007

The presidents of Venezuela and Iran, boasting Monday that they will defeat U.S. imperalism together, saying that the fall of the dollar is a prelude to the end of Washington’s global dominance, were dancing a presidents’s polka.
Speaking of the poisonous relationship he has with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in Tehran, Chavez said “Here [...]

Poofing away the politically correct

Thursday, November 15th, 2007

Pity the poor Santas who lined up in Australia to try out for department store Santas this year.
Used to be that they worried about being too thin, or maybe not jolly enough.
But the politically-correct minions are busy changing the things that make Santa Claus, Santa Claus.
“Santas across [...]

Real Family Trees

Tuesday, November 13th, 2007

Canada Free Press contact Frank Livingston sends us a letter sent to him by Donald E. Wildmon, Founder and Chairman of the American Family Association, lamenting Lowe’s “Family trees”.
In their Holiday 2007 catalog, containing 56 pages of Christmas gifts, it seems that Lowe’s is advertising hundreds of gift items, including scores of “Family trees”.
“In fact, [...]

Flying with the Eagles

Tuesday, November 13th, 2007

Letters have been pouring in to Canada Free Press after we wrote about making it to number 47 on the top 100 most influential Conservative websites.
We appreciate one and all who recognize the work it takes to get CFP to the top among readers.
But the letter from Viet Nam Vet and American Patriot Jim Elliott [...]

Winter fireplace Outside my bedroom window

Sunday, November 11th, 2007

What happened in the wee hours last night makes me glad for this blog.
It was the perfect end to a Red Letter Day when I decided to go back to bed after waking at 2 a.m. to find that Canada Free Press (CFP) had made it to the 100 most popular Conservative websites. [...]

Feds back off on no-angels order

Saturday, November 10th, 2007

Eureka!
Would-be grinches at HUD have rescinded their newsletter regarding decorating policies for the tenants of their facilities!
Mrs. Arnold and other Grandmas will be allowed to decorate their Christmas trees with angels.
One down–thousands more to go–among politically-correct assassins working so feverishly to take Christ out of christmas.

Demoralizing Grannies

Saturday, November 10th, 2007

Bureaucracy unbridled has no heart and no commonsense.
Imagine Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) officials telling an 85-year-old grandma that she can’t put her angel on this year’s Christmas tree.
HUD has decided that a ban is in order on any decorations in their housing complexes that mention Jesus [...]
