Brave Hart!

With the vindictiveness exhibited by the Obama regime towards those who have had the audacity of questioning his actions, Velma Hart displayed a ‘Brave Hart’ in taking on President Obama without his teleprompter! It was encouraging to hear one of President Obama’s ‘faithful’ questioning his actions with genuine emotion, but their exchange has prompted a bevy of questions.

Thank ya, thank ya, thank ya!

Private Gomer Pyle, U. S. M. C. (1960s TV situation comedy) was famous for saying, ‘Thank ya, thank ya, thank ya!’ With the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) proclaiming that the recession which started in 2007, ended in June, 2009, former President George W. Bush must be saying ‘Thank ya, thank ya, thank ya!’

Are Mr. & Mrs. Smith Going to Washington?

I held off commenting on the events of this past week to refrain from making any knee-jerk comments, but it does look increasingly as if Mr. and Mrs. Smith have genuine opportunities to go to Washington, if the pundits don’t derail them. It’s time to run the likes of Senator Paine (in the neck) and the Taylor Machine [Mr. Smith Goes to Washington] out of politics.

Fiducia interruptus; trust interrupted! Trust is hard to earn and easy to lose. With all of the mind-numbing numbers of political payoffs to unions and political contributors at the expense of the taxpayers, non-taxpayers and countless generations to come, there are two (2) reasons our economy remains mired in quicksand, neither of them financial.

Punt term limits; eliminate the perks!

Heard recently on a morning radio talk show in Kansas City, ‘…I’ve only been in office 14 years …’ Isn’t that the crux of our challenges with a non-responsive, non-representative and irresponsible Federal government?

‘U’-Shaped rescission of tax cuts vs. whipsaw destruction

It is encouraging to see three (3) Democrats placing the good of the country ahead of rigid ideology for the first time in eighteen (18) months in regards to the rescission of the Bush tax cuts. It is unfortunate that virtually all Democrats and even some Republicans are wedded to the belief that ‘tax fairness’ will increase tax revenues to pay for their distorted belief in ‘social justice.’ Who are the arbiters of this ‘justice,’ and who appoints them? Is this Constitutional?

City Council Conundrum

If you don’t live in the Kansas City metro area, you probably haven’t heard of the quiet, little suburb of Roeland Park, KS. If you thought that fiscal insanity and pigheadedness is reserved for the corrupt politicians in Washington, D. C., and the state houses around the country, think again!
