BombThrowers

Bombthrowers is a blog about politics and the war for the hearts and minds of Americans from a conservative viewpoint. In line with our name, we do not hold back. We have a take-no-prisoners attitude when it comes to fighting for conservative principles. The Left doesn’t play nice, and that’s why they’ve been winning. It’s time for conservatives to rise up and turn the tide. We’re not afraid to take on anyone, especially the Washington Establishment—Republican or Democrat. Bombthrowers is a project supported by the Capital Research Center. Its editor-in-chief is Matthew Vadum.

Mississippi school bans literary classic “To Kill a Mockingbird” for making people feel uncomfortable

You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view … Until you climb inside of his skin and walk around in it.
These are the wise words of the fictional Atticus Finch from Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird, who like poor Huckleberry Finn, has now been assigned to the ash heap of history by society’s politically correct censors.

Angry Michigan students besiege libertarian scholar Charles Murray

Angry student protesters bombarded an event hosted by the College Republicans at the University of Michigan and repeatedly mocked and harassed the invited speaker, libertarian scholar Charles Murray. For 40 minutes, the protesters held up signs, shouted chants, and even flashed a projector on the wall behind Murray to label him a “white supremacist.”

Trump shuts out the NFL

When President Donald Trump squared off against NFL players protesting the national anthem, he showed that American conservatives still have the numbers to defeat left-wing social justice crusades. The key to victory is having confidence in those numbers, choosing battles wisely, and refusing to retreat an inch once the battle has begun.

The NFL Players Association funds the far Left

The National Football League Players Association (NFLPA), an AFL-CIO affiliate, has joined George Soros and a number of other ultra-wealthy, left-wing donors—including Planned Parenthood and the Kellogg Foundation—to fund groups fueling the so-called “Resistance” to Donald Trump’s presidency. The tax revelations show that the NFLPA’s response to Trump’s recent comments critical of players who protest during the national anthem is no more spontaneous than the organizations it funds are grassroots-based.

Conservative heroism: Congressman Scalise not budging on unlimited gun rights even after surviving shooting

House Majority Whip Steve Scalise’s life was forever changed this summer when a bullet entered his body on a baseball field where he and his congressional colleagues gathered for charity. Leftist gunman James T. Hodgkinson wanted to kill as many Republicans as possible, but failed and was shot dead on-site. Just a few days ago, a still-recovering Scalise walked back onto the House floor, but this time, assisted with crutches.

The Left’s attacks are getting personal

We have been treated to a year of rioting and violence over the mere hint that a conservative may speak at some college. The intolerant, fascistic, violent Left seems determined to demonstrate just how vicious and despotic its instincts are.

When wusses cave

Just a day after my Bombthrowers post entitled Wusses of the foreign policy establishment, the Europeans and the Iranians have already demonstrated the truth of my argument that contrary to the beliefs of the wussy foreign policy establishment (FPE) in the U.S., when the U.S. acts with strength and conviction in foreign affairs, we succeed.

Victory! Department of Defense purges SPLC information from its training material

The Department of Defense (DOD) has recently removed all its material related to extremist groups that came from the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC). The DOD infamously used the discredited SPLC’s data, which led it compare Catholic and Protestant Christians to al Qaeda, as examples of religious extremism. CRC has extensively covered the left-wing bent of the SPLC that has prompted it to include mainstream, conservative nonprofits with legitimate hate groups with histories of violence.

Social media hate for conservative victims of Las Vegas shooter

There was a time not so very long ago when a national tragedy would unite the country, if only for a short time. We would grieve the humans lost as humans lost, innocent people taken too soon with loved ones left behind. In the wake of the Las Vegas shooting, it is all too clear that those days are gone.

Donor rights, donor intent, rear their heads in lawsuit against DNC

There are plenty who take exception to Hillary Clinton’s self-pity book, titled What Happened, including Democrats and far-left progressives. “I’ve been a Democrat my whole life and I didn’t vote for her and it had nothing to do with Russia or Jim Comey,” said Elizabeth Lee Beck, one of the attorneys, along with her husband Jared Beck, representing 150 financial supporters of Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, in a class action lawsuit against the Democratic National Committee and its ousted chairwoman, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.).

The Soros dynasty: like father, like son

Alexander Soros, son of billionaire donor George Soros, has so far maintained a low profile in the nonprofit world. But now he appears to be following in his father's footsteps as a major donor for left-wing groups and politicians.

Why won’t the Justice Department pursue Lois Lerner?

The Department of Justice (DoJ) recently announced that it will not pursue a criminal investigation into Lois Lerner, the former director of the Exempt Organizations Unit of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), who admitted to targeting and aggressively harassing Tea Party groups. With Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin’s affinity for the IRS—and the recent news that he asked to use a military jet to ferry him and his wife on their honeymoon—raises questions about his influence on the DoJ’s decision not to pursue Lerner for her illegal actions.

Trump speaks truth to the evil powers

It really goes without saying, but in these times is important to say nonetheless, that President Trump’s speech before the UN was an unqualified success.
