I didn’t like Donald Trump going on about Christine Blasey Ford at that rally the other night either. The case he was presenting was, in my estimation, mostly accurate – and it’s hard to credit the outrage of those who are gleefully destroying Brett Kavanaugh’s reputation without remorse.
It’s about time we had a U.S. administration that not only thumbs its nose at the UN’s nonsense, but also refuses to countenance the idiotic notion that the UN has any legitimacy in the first place.
There are consequences for acting in an utterly disgraceful manner, especially when you’re hopes of achieving power depend on the public’s approval of how you do things.

No, this is not one of those things where some media type or establishment politician tries to convince us that the prosperity we’re seeing is all an illusion and it’s sure to come crashing down at any moment.
In rationally functioning markets, your competitors laugh at you and eat you for lunch when you do something like this. Unnecessarily inflating your costs is an invitation to smarter companies to undercut you on price, and that spells pilfered market share.
If you want a blow-by-blow recounting of all the Democrats’ mischief on this matter, you can’t do much better than what Mitch McConnell lays out here.
One detail that deserves more attention than it’s getting is the dishonest process by which Dr. Ford – her name and her whole life – were thrust in front of the public against her wishes.
This was as predictable as the sun rising in the east. If you didn’t see it coming, if you didn’t know they were getting ready with it before it even started, you’re as naive and foolish as . . . Jeff Flake.
Science is a wonderful discipline, a fascinating process by which we seek to understand what goes on throughout God’s creation. We’ve discovered and learned many things through science. We’ve also learned of new questions we wouldn’t have otherwise known to ask.
It’s possible this will still end well. It’s possible the new FBI probe will give Collins and Murkowski the cover they need to vote yes and confirm Brett Kavanaugh.
It’s also possible this was the only way to get to 51 votes.
This comes via Matt Vespa at Townhall, whose sources tell him it’s a done deal.
Not only are Collins, Murkowski and Flake all voting to confirm, but even a few Democrats may do so – particularly Joe Manchin of West Virginia, who is up for re-election this year and can’t afford to go against the wishes of his red-state constituents if he wants another term.
Let’s not forget what’s really happening here.
This is not a theater competition. It is not a debate. It not even a he-said-she-said. We’re dealing with devastatingly serious allegations against a man, by a woman who has only her memory to back up what she claims happened 36 years ago. A man accused of such things is entitled to the opportunity to offer facts that refute the accusations.
Lindsey Graham is forgiven for everything I’ve ever been mad at him about. It’s a long list. It’s all forgiven.
All of it.
After this, he’s earned it.
This whole thing is a complete disgrace, but nothing fits that description more than the constantly repeated Democrat talking point that demands an FBI investigation of Christine Blasey Ford’s claims – and in fact, alleges a “coverup” if one is not conducted.
I suppose there could be other classmates who did see Kavanaugh act in the manner described by his accusers. If so, where are they?
None of the supposed witnesses cited by Christine Blasey Ford have panned out. The Georgetown Prep alumni don’t even remember meeting anyone named Julie Swetnick. Everyone in a position to know who has spoken on the record has said Brett Kavanaugh simply did not act in the manner portrayed by his accusers.
Submitted without much comment, but I do want to say a few things about this.
What we’re presented with here is two totally different notions of the kind of man this is. There is no in-between. There is no splitting the difference.
So they’re buds again?
Maybe the best way to keep your job in the Trump Administration is to have someone leak to the failing New York Times that you were going around trying to undermine the president. A story based on anonymous sources? Obviously false. You’ll have a job forever.
This is either an absolute bombshell or the dirtiest of dirty pool – sprung at the last possible minute to make it appear any scheduled vote on Kavanaugh without a thorough investigation would be beyond irresponsible.
It comes from a noted lawyer of porn stars, and the allegation itself doesn’t get any more explosive. Yet that’s the very reason it’s hard to believe it happened the way she claims.
I hasten to clarify: Rachel Mitchell is not the elected Maricopa County Prosecutor, as that’s an elected position held by one specific person. That’s Bill Montgomery. But Mitchell works in the prosecutor’s office and has a long history prosecuting sex crimes.
