Review, Remember and Revitalize the Bill of Rights

Review, Remember and Revitalize the Bill of RightsToday is the day normally set aside to remember and relegate respect for the Bill of Rights of the Constitution of the United States of America. Nonetheless, it is likely that this “normal” weekday will not give enough time, or provide enough motivation, or stimulate enough inspiration to remember or ignite much respect for the protections of our God-given rights. As Americans prepare for holiday festivities and gatherings, it is likely that the Bill of Rights will be an afterthought.

Comparing the Attack upon Pearl Harbor and the Current Unrestricted Warfare upon the United States of America

Comparing the Attack upon Pearl Harbor and the Current Unrestricted Warfare upon the United States of AmericaA few minutes before 8 a.m. on December 7, 1941, the peace of a sleepy Sunday morning was shattered as hell was unleashed upon the United States naval base in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.  It was an overt act of war initiated to commit horrendous destruction as well as to kill as many enemy military personnel as possible. And, in just two hours, over 2,400 Americans had been killed and 1,178 U.S. military personnel and civilians had been wounded, 188 aircraft had been completely destroyed with an additional 159 more aircraft damaged. Additionally, 20 ships were either completely sunk, seriously damaged, or crippled.

The Re-Birth of One Nation Under God

The Re-Birth of One Nation Under GodIn July of 2020 just after Independence Day, I offered a message that focused upon this nation of the United States of America. The message was titled: “Retaining Freedom - Through a Revolution of Heart.” In that article from July 5, 2020, I asked the readers: “‘...what was the primary impetus from the Founders to create a nation conceived in Liberty?’ I submit to readers that the impetus or inspiration was rooted in the dramatic escape from slavery from the ancient tyranny under the Pharoahs that existed in such a period in Ancient Egypt.’” It was definitely a monumental effort of “biblical proportions” to leave behind a 400 year history of slavery and move beyond it into freedom. Yet, the escape into freedom was not the total object of desire. Of course, it may have been for some who consider that freedom entails no responsibility, or “nothing left to lose,” according to the old Janis Joplin lyrics. If this were the case, God would not have asked Moses to reveal the “Ten Commandments” to the people. For a people who had only know slavery from birth to death, they would need a way of sustaining their liberty, or they would lose it more easily than they worked to obtain their freedom. The initial Ten Commandments, were the foundation for a new form of ethical and moral governance.

Navigating to the Truth About Christopher Columbus in an Ocean of Lies

Navigating to the Truth About Christopher Columbus in an Ocean of LiesIt is amazing that President Biden issued a proclamation for celebrating Columbus Day this year "in honor of our diverse history and all who have contributed to shaping this Nation." However, there were a number of points he missed, if he even put the official recognition of Columbus Day into effect within his own mind. It is more likely a formality that he simply signed off on in the course of a number of signings he may never recollect. It makes one wonder because he also created Indigenous Peoples Day last year to honor the Native American history and culture, which will fall on the calendar the same day as Columbus Day, even though there is an entire month that has already been dedicated to honor Native American history.

Constitution Day 2022: Re-creating a More Perfect Union

Constitution Day 2022: Re-creating a More Perfect UnionToday is the birthday of one of the most important founding documents not just in the history of the United States, but in the long history of the world. Today is the day many Americans, who still love the Republic, celebrate Constitution Day. And, each passing year in such a time as this, Americans who love the Republic must consider it amazing that the U.S.Constitution still stands despite all that has happened in the nation since the beginning of the new millennium.

Remembering the Heroes on Patriot Day

Remembering the Heroes on Patriot Day Twenty one years have passed since the horror of the insidious terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center buildings, on the Pentagon, upon innocent lives, and since the days of September 11, 2001, Americans have been affected in direct or indirect ways by the attacks upon the nation and upon the American way of life, and upon the American psyche. It is very obvious that America has not been the same since. In the days following 9/11, America changed dramatically. We speak of post-9/11 as the day became a demarcation line between the “old” America and America we live in today. So, at the dawning of the new millennium, a devious, destructive, and deadly terrorist organization, known as Al-Qaeda, conducted these sneak attacks upon civilian and military targets as they managed to weaponize commercial airliners against multiple targets, civilian and military alike. Tragically, the combined terrorist attacks on 9/11, resulted in the murders of over 2,977 people and the injury of 6,000 others -- people from over 90 nations died in these attacks. Memories of the attacks on the civilians in the Twin Towers, the military and civilian personnel at the Pentagon, and defenseless passengers on the airliner that went down in an obscure field in Pennsylvania, left permanent scars on the nation and upon the people.

Faith Guiding Justice Will Return America to “One Nation Under God”

Faith Guiding Justice Will Return America to 'One Nation Under God'The recent Supreme Court decision to reverse the federal government’s support of what has become known as “abortion rights,” has essentially created a divisive earthquake throughout  the nation, with people taking sides, and one side taking to intimidating rhetoric, aggressive and  threatening protests, as well as street theater by elected officials. What must be understood is that such recent division is not so recent. The Roe v. Wade decision divided the nation when it was first handed down by the Supreme Court under Chief Justice Warren Burger in 1973. At the time, it was unlikely that the justices may have realized how incredibly divisive and destructive that one decision would render the nation.

Re-considering the Declaration on Independence Day - 2022

Re-considering the Declaration on Independence Day - 2022Over this weekend, Americans will be celebrating the Independence of the United States of America; however, there are a significant number who give little thought to Independence and how it fundamentally relates to them on a daily basis. Ironically, what may give Americans a clue that they should not take our freedoms for granted is the current overt attacks upon the very principles embedded in the founding documents. However, this is not overly obvious until it manifests in woke business models that essentially authorize a very predatorial-type assault on the nation’s children. Or, it does not get much attention unless one is confronted with the glowing disparity between the MSM coverage of rioters burning cities and then being released compared with lack of attention to peaceful protestors who trespassed into the U.S. Capitol who are still sitting in jail. Such silence speaks loudly.

Reflecting on June 25, 1950 and the Communist Invasion of South Korea

Reflecting on June 25, 1950 and the Communist Invasion of South KoreaFor many Americans under the age of 50 or so, the Korean War (previously known as the "Korean Conflict" in politically sanitized language) may not be understood as a major military confrontation like the U.S. involvement in Vietnam. Nevertheless, this conflict was a global, war even though it has often been referred to as the 'Forgotten War.' One needs to  consider that the former Soviet Union, as well as a newly formed Communist regime of the People's Republic of China (P.R.C.), in addition to the Soviet puppet state  under the North Korean Communists (the Democratic People's Republic of Korea – D.P.R.K.), all took part in fighting to take over South Korea. This Communist triad of nations was aligned against the joint military forces of the participating nations of the United Nations. The conflict, though limited to the nation of Korea, represented a definitive global confrontation. It could have mushroomed into World War III.

June 14th: Birthday of the Army of Freedom and Old Glory, the Emblem of 'We the People"

June 14th as Flag DayAmerica in 2022 is in a serious moral and ethical free fall. A wealthy criminal elite have taken ownership of the nation in the name of being Americans, and far too many crimes against the citizens, against “We the People,” often go unpunished and every violation is being done in the name of the United States of America. The sacred blueprint of a Constitutional Republic is but a distant memory in the minds of modern day patriots holding onto a glimmer of hope that some good may emerge in such a tumultuous time. But, goodness does not have a life of its own. It emanates from people of faith seeking to practice it in their daily lives. Goodness ceases to exist when courage, or hope, or morality are no longer important to a people or a culture.

Reflections on D-Day: remembering those who “gave their last full measure of devotion.”

Reflections on D-Day: remembering those who gave their last full measure of devotionOn Sunday,  Christians throughout the world celebrated Pentecost Sunday, and this day, considered the birthday of the Church, was a turning point in human history as the torch of light or truth that Jesus brought into this world was passed to a band of stalwart people who essentially inherited the mission of spreading the Good News. Much of the primary content of Jesus’ words and the example he set through his life and his sacrifice could be explained in his reduction of the Commandments into a simple creed: Love God and love His children. Yet, times have changed and many have truly lost connection with what that essentially means.

Reflecting on Memorial Day, the First Civil War, and Trust in God

Reflecting on Memorial Day, the First Civil War, and Trust in God Memorial Day was created within the ashes of the death and destruction of the First Civil War in order to honor the staggering number of dead American (over 600,000) men and boys. This past holiday several sacred reminders reflected the honor Americans still give to those who had given their lives for the sake of Freedom itself. It is reflective that the ideals of Freedom are still evident within the internal DNA of Americans.

Memorial Day: To remember those who died that freedom would survive

Memorial Day: To remember those who died that freedom would surviveMemorial Day used to be celebrated throughout the United States as a holiday most Americans took advantage of by maximizing the three-day holiday through traveling (if they could afford it) or by simply relaxing in gatherings of family and friends in backyard barbecues or events held locally. The central focus was on spending precious time together with those who matter most. Unfortunately, after the tragedies on September 11, 2001, Memorial Day took on a whole new meaning for many Americans, especially those who lost loved ones in the terrorist attacks on American soil. That day continues to be a demarcation point from which many other events are measured in the “post 9/11 world.” In the aftermath of the horror, the ashes from destroyed and broken lives were strewn throughout the nation. The memories of such devastation left permanent scars.

Life and Liberty Amidst the Culture of Death

On the threshold of Memorial Day the nation is in mourning over the Uvalde, Texas school tragedy – at least in some non-political realms there is genuine mourning. Within the political realms there is posturing and pointing of fingers for political capital. That in itself is tragic – that the “leaders” of the country would use the horrific and insane actions of a deranged individual to bolster their own advancement or their political agendas. The ugly murders of the children and the teachers at Robb Elementry School in Uvalde, Texas is just the latest tragedy to wrench people’s hearts all across the nation. But, as regular people attempt to grapple to understand this tragedy and not just become overwhelmed with emotion, or seek sly political spins for self-centered motives, intelligent people must also look at a much bigger context in which events such as these unfold.

The Urgency of Resurrecting Honest Elections

The Urgency of Resurrecting Honest Elections As Passover and Easter have just come and gone, many people of faith would realize that both holidays have much to do with a passage from slavery into freedom. The Passover celebration is focused upon an escape from the death that smote the first-born Egyptians, but also escape from the historical bondage of slavery in Egypt. The celebration of Easter is focused upon the Resurrection of Jesus which is a passage from death to life and for Christians a passage from the bondage of sin into the light of truth that can set the faithful free. It is upon this foundation of the Judeo-Christian heritage that the United States of America came into existence.

Citizens of California Still Fight for Free and Honest Elections

Citizens of California Still Fight for Free and Honest ElectionsIn reflection upon the recall effort to give Gavin Newsom a non-essential job, it is no longer an easy option to vote authoritarians out of office. It is truly amazing that Americans even have the option to “throw the bums out,” either in an election or a recall effort like the one that had failed in California in 2021. This is a form of Democracy in action—when the elected official has not fulfilled whatever campaign promises that were made, or if there is demonstrable incompetence, or evidence of criminal activities of political figures, “reverse elections” can spontaneously erupt.

The Will to Sacrifice for a New Birth of Freedom

The Will to Sacrifice for a New Birth of FreedomAs the world turns toward crazy, it is for the wise to keep their heads on straight and their hearts in the right place to pass through this "valley of the shadow of death." In a horrendous couple of  years, the world has gone from a relative state of calm to an unimagined upheaval in nearly all of the regions of the world. This is normally not witnessed by people, but it represents the end of an age and the beginning of a new age. But, although anyone paying attention might grasp this fundamental perception, the question is whether humanity is spinning out of control into some sort of death spiral of self-destruction, or there is a deeper occurrence involving a brief period of the pain of birthing a new era of human existence.

Abraham Lincoln - Still a Great Leader to those who love the Republic!

Abraham Lincoln - Still a Great Leader to those who love the Republic!Today, some patriotic American people who still care about the Republic may remember that it is Abraham Lincoln’s birthday. However, many may not even want to remember his birthday based on their own bias or prejudice. Abraham Lincoln is seemingly still as controversial in our time as he was in his own. The state governments that consider Lincoln as a president to be honored over President’s Day weekend, confuse the purpose of the federal holiday known as 'President’s Day'. However, though some state governments honor Lincoln in such a way, there are others in the old southern states that refuse to honor Lincoln in such a way on President’s Day. The pain of the Civil War endures even into this millennium.

May the Spirit of Martin Luther King, Jr. Inspire a New Voting Rights Movement

May the Spirit of Martin Luther King, Jr. Inspire a New Voting Rights MovementIn the wake of the day to honor Martin Luther King, Jr., there are indications of a swelling political tsunami of increasing popular demands for election integrity that may dwarf the historical fight for voting rights during the years of the Civil Rights Movement. Many political pundits cannot ignore the looming showdown that is shaping up over fair and honest elections in the “Land of the Free” in 2022. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer had recently stated that his Party will protect America from the violent attempts to undermine a “free and fair election” as was witnessed on January 6, 2021. He indicated that only serious structural reforms would be able to protect American democracy from such an existential threat. Such a threat, in his view, would require dramatic action and he intended to undo the planned GOP filibuster over his precious voting rights bill by Martin Luther King Day.

The Right to Life Entwined With the Bill of Rights

The Right to Life Entwined With the Bill of RightsToday is Bill of Rights day, but it is likely that it will glide by most Americans as they rush to and fro in  their daily routines. It arrives in the wake of the death and destruction of killer tornadoes that ripped through six states across the Midwest and the South last Friday night into Saturday morning. It is likely that it will not be noticed in comparison to the challenges of struggling to survive in a very dangerous environment in 2021.
