The Kuwaiti daily Al Seyasa published today a scandalous report in Arabic addressing in details a Hezbollah sponsored, financed and run intelligence and professional prostitution net and gang, entrusted to trap Lebanese politicians and dignitaries from all walks of life.
Once again the Iranian-Syrian Evil Of Axis Criminals brutally assassinate a patriotic, peaceful and intellectual Lebanese dignitary. Today, in occupied and oppressed Lebanon, the former Lebanese minister Mohamad Chatah was murdered in a massive car bomb blast that killed also and seriously injured tens of innocent citizens in Lebanon’s capital, Beirut.
“If we have only hoped in Christ in this life, we are of all men most pitiable” (Corinthians15/19)
On this holy day, of Resurrection, we are ought to be aware that for our prayers to be looked upon and heard by Almighty God, we are required to reconcile with with all others on whom we have inflicted pain and injustice, and treated them with an evil manner. To please the Lord we are required to genuinely, heartily and overtly perform all required acts of repentance for all our mischievous conducts and wrongdoings. We are required to pray and pray and pray.
On the Thursday that comes before the “Good Friday, when Jesus was crucified, Catholics all over the world, including our Maronite Eastern Church celebrates with prayers and intercessions the “Thursday of the Holy Mysteries”, which is also known as the “Washing Thursday “, the “Covenant Thursday”, and the “Great & Holy Thursday”. It is the holy day feast that falls on the Thursday before Easter that commemorates the Last Supper of Jesus Christ with His 12 Apostles as described in the gospel. It is the fifth day of the last Lenten Holy Week, that is followed by the, “Good Friday”, “Saturday Of The Light and “Easter Sunday”.
Those who do not witness for the truth because of selfishness and earthly calculations, as well as those who are cowardice, fearful, resort to compromise and cajoling, and bend for the same reasons, all those are actually detached from Jesus and from the sense and core of genuine Christianity. Jesus never ever compromised on any righteous principle. He loudly, openly and straightforwardly preached His Godly message to every one who was ready to hear, including all those in key authority position; the Pharisees, the scribers, the tax collectors, the rulers etc. He rebuked them stridently and pinpointed their flagrant infringements on God’s law. His fascinated response to the Pharisees who asked Him to muffle His disciples while entering Jerusalem is an everlasting map road and a solid pillar for courage, freedom of expression and witnessing for what is righteous and Godly.
“Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11/28-30) .
Fouad Afram Boustani, (1904- 1994), the Lebanese Maronite historian described the Maronite denomination as, a faith of intelligence, an identification of life, a solid belief in Catholicism, a love for others, an ongoing struggle for righteousness, a mentality of openness on the whole world, and on its different civilizations, and a vehicle for martyrdom. The Maronites established the state of Lebanon and made it an oasis for the persecuted in the middle East. They believed and practiced multiculturalism and pluralism. They created with the help of other minorities in the Middle East the unique nation of Lebanon.
With great joy, faith, hope and thanks to the gracious Almighty God, we extend our genuine and heartily felt Congratulation to the Egyptian Coptic Christians and to all Coptic communities and congregations all over the world for the blessed heavenly choice of their new blessed Pope, Tawdros.
“If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink”. (John 07/37)
No matter what we ask Almighty God for in our prayers, He definitely shall listen attentively to our requests and respond in the time, way, mode and manner that He sees with His great wisdom and love good, fair and appropriate for us. If we fully trust in Him, obey His Commands, and pray with faith and sincerity, there is no doubt that He will hear and come to our rescue when we call on Him.
There is no doubt that we live in an era of global political hypocrisy par excellence. An era of deviations and corruption where criminals preach holiness and terrorists advocate for peace and tranquility. Why not, when all the criteria for all that is right and wrong have been distorted and confused. Sadly, the majority of our world rulers and politicians do not respect the intelligence, dignity, or the knowledge of the lay citizens and accordingly have no place or any slight calculations in their conduct.
John13/15: “The greatest love you can have for your friends is to give your life for them”.
Lebanon and its free patriotic citizens, all over the world remembered on Thursday 23/12 with pride, honour and pain Sheik Bachir’s 30th anniversary presidential day. The “Dream” leader Sheik Bachir Gemayel was elected president for Lebanon on 23 August/1982.
“He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. He has put down princes from their thrones. And has exalted the lowly. He has filled the hungry with good things. He has sent the rich away empty”. (Luke 01/51-54)
“Blessed indeed is the man who hears many gentle voices call him father!” (Lydia M. Child, U.S. Author)
Hopefully, all men will have the blessed grace of being fathers. Being a father is a heavenly endowment, a great satisfaction, and a fulfilling Godly obligation as the Holy Bible teaches us: “Genesis 1:28 “God blessed them. God said to them, “Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, and subdue it.”
It is a well-known scientific fact and a proven reality that animals who are carnivorous predators do not hunt and kill their prey unless they are hungry and not because they love to kill or find a pleasure in hunting. These animals do not torture their prey but kill them on the spot within a few minutes.
