ABC News: Obama doubles down on two of his most-despised policies

Last week, the Democrats took a historic beating. They're blaming a whole herd of scapegoats for it but, in the end, their excuses are all hollow. They lost because the voters decided that they were sick of Obama's left-wing policies, and they want the GOP to chart the nation's course. End of story.

VIDEO: MSNBC panel can't think of a single reason Hillary Clinton should run

When conservatives hear someone say "Jeb Bush might run," the claim is invariably met with eye-rolling and a resounding chorus of "why?" The GOP has a deep bench, a pile of attractive candidates, and a chance to move forward instead of back. Bush feels like a retro candidate being foisted on the base by the elites who run the party.

Pelosi denies knowing ACA architect Gruber: 'I don't know who he is. He didn't help write our bill.'

Nancy Pelosi's having quite a day. First, she denied the existence of the GOP wave in last Tuesday's midterm. Now, we've gotten word that she's denying any knowledge of ObamaCare architect Johnathan Gruber. Obviously, you know Gruber as the arrogant MIT professor who helped write the Democrats' health care legislation. You also know him as a guy appearing in an increasingly large collection of videos in which he admits the law was built on lies and voter stupidity.

Don't worry, Democrats. Nancy Pelosi is pretty sure there was no midterm wave

When we last heard from the totally-not-crazy Nancy Pelosi, she was predicting that "Civilization as we know it today would be in jeopardy if Republicans win the Senate." Then, Nancy's worst fears came true. We're sure you're aware of this, because the world fell apart last Tuesday and you probably spent the last week scrounging for food in our GOP-created post-apocalyptic wasteland.

GOP picks up another seat: Begich is all but finished. AP calls Alaska for Sullivan

On election night, I swore I was going to stay up until all the races that didn't feature runoffs had been called. I made it as far as Mia Love's win around 2:30 AM and was forced to ask myself "Am I really going to try to stay awake for Sullivan's win in Alaska?" I gave up and went to bed. I'm glad I did, because if I'd kept my initial vow, I'd be one seriously tired writer today.

24 hours after her big win on Tuesday, Joni Ernst was back in uniform.

Here's a story I managed to miss during last week's election hoopla. It's old news now, but I thought I'd share it with you anyway. If you're from Iowa and supported Joni Ernst, it'll make you glad you did. If you're outside the Hawkeye State, but you followed Ernst's campaign, you'll be happy that voters made the right choice.

2016: Forty minute 'Meet Ben Carson' ad to air in 22 states Sunday

Surely, every one of our regular readers knows who Dr. Ben Carson is. However, if you're a low-info voter who doesn't pay attention to any given election until Chris Matthews tells you who you should vote for, you may not have heard of him. Dr. Carson is looking to remedy that problem by airing a 40-minute ad this Sunday.

Suddenly, inexplicably, a very cordial Harry Reid wants to 'work together'

Harry Reid spent the last few years attacking the GOP in every conceivable way. He's compared them to Nazis, accused them of wanting to kill people, indicated that deep down they hate their own country, and claimed that they desperately want to flood America's water supply with mercury and arsenic.

UTAH: Mia Love defeats Doug Owens!

Here in the Eastern Time Zone, it's 2:01 AM. However, I'm willing to bet that some east-coasters are still watching the returns. Plus, if you're over on the left coast, it's only 11:00 PM. You're still paying attention!
