Feinstein: Kavanaugh thinks Trump is an ‘Oligarch’ who ‘cannot be investigated’ because he’s ‘above the law’

Feinstein: Kavanaugh thinks Trump is an ‘Oligarch’ who ‘cannot be investigated’ because he’s ‘above the law’ As we’ve reported in the past, Dianne Feinstein is too old and too conservative for her base. Core Dems have drifted so far over the socialist cliff that she just doesn’t cut the mustard anymore. They demand a radical leftist, and she’s just a hair to the center of that. So, her own state party denied her an endorsement, and the true believers are backing L.A.-based state Sen. Kevin de Leon.

Shocker: Shamelessly grandstanding Senator places staff in Iowa ahead of 2020

As surely as that first red robin is an early sign of spring, a shameless career politician heading to Iowa is a sign of an impending presidential run. Shamelessly grandstanding Senator Cory Booker That’s a political truism not because it’s easy to spot, but because – usually – it pans out. Iowa kicks off the primary season with early caucuses, and anyone wanting to play a role in that election needs to have people on the ground a couple of years out. So, those of us who watch and write about Washington keep an eye on the state to see who’s sending an advance team.

Cory ‘Spartacus’ Booker succeeds in proving Kavanaugh is against racial profiling

Cory ‘Spartacus’ Booker succeeds in proving Kavanaugh is against racial profiling I don’t know if the Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee are trying to self-destruct, or if they’re just frazzled because they have no way to stop the Kavanaugh nomination. Either way, they’re embarrassing themselves on a spectacular level. As Dan mentioned a few minutes ago, Cory Booker was really proud of himself for releasing some confidential emails that he thought were going to be some sort of bombshell aimed at the nominee.

Trump calls New York Times editorial ‘gutless’ – and he’s right. If things are that bad…

Trump calls New York Times editorial ‘gutless’ – and he’s right. If things are that bad… Earlier, Dan discussed the anonymous New York Times editorial that has the political world in a tizzy. It paints a picture of a barely-sane President, an administration working to control his radical impulses, and a government in crisis. At one point, it suggests that the President is unstable and there was consideration given to removing him via the 25th Amendment. At another it argues that he is both anti-trade and anti-democracy.

Far-left MA Democrat defeats another long-time Dem stalwart in primary – base continues to push party toward socialism

Far-left MA Democrat defeats another long-time Dem stalwart in primary – base continues to push party toward socialism Back in July, the Democratic Party was rocked by the primary defeat of Rep. Joseph Crowley at the hands of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Crowley was a long-time liberal stalwart who was widely regarded as being on-track for bigger and better things. Rumors about his future included replacing Nancy Pelosi as Speaker should the Dems retake the House and, eventually, a run for the White House.

Rahm Emanuel announces its time to wander away from the Chicago Mayor’s office

Rahm Emanuel announces its time to wander away from the Chicago Mayor’s office Congratulations Chicago. Your taxes may be soaring, your police may be completely overwhelmed, and your population has fallen for the third year in a row, but at least you won’t have to deal with Mayor Rahm Emanuel anymore. In a surprise announcement, Emanuel informed the city that it would be without his services in the near future.

Kavanaugh confirmation hearing-mania hits DC, and no one will be spared!

Kavanaugh confirmation hearing-mania hits DC, and no one will be spared!, Supreme Court Brace yourself for a day of posturing blowhards, hollow platitudes, shameless hypocrisy, media outrage, and ridiculous protests. The Brett Kavanaugh confirmation hearing starts this morning at 9:30 AM EST. Day one will not feature any questions. Instead, you’ll be treated to a statement from Kavanaugh, followed by a litany of praise and grievances from both sides of the Senate Judiciary Committee. It is, without question, going to be some of the worst theater anyone has seen since “Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark” premiered on Broadway.

MSNBC: Trump a ‘dictator in the making’ – Kavanaugh is the ‘illegitimate’ product of an ‘illegitimate’ process

MSNBC: Trump a ‘dictator in the making’ – Kavanaugh is the ‘illegitimate’ product of an ‘illegitimate’ process I’ll admit it. When it comes to pointing out the insanity over at MSNBC, I’ve been slacking off a bit. Rest assured, this isn’t because there hasn’t been any craziness to cover. To the contrary, they’ve been on such a massive Trump derangement bender that it’s become overwhelming. Singling out a specific ridiculous moment on MSNBC has become akin to singling out a specific drop of water in the ocean.

Trump outpacing the last 6 Presidents in terms of judicial appointments – by a wide margin

Trump outpacing the last 6 Presidents in terms of judicial appointments – by a wide margin Obviously, conservatives are fond of Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch. So far, they also like Brett Kavanaugh, whose confirmation hearings start next week. Voters like myself, who may not be particularly fond of President Trump on a style-level, have long argued that the real prize of the 2016 election was the Supreme Court. Had Hillary been elected, she would have radically shifted the court to the left, designer cases would have been brought forth immediately, and the 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 10th Amendments would have been gutted in short order.

NBC polling: Trump approval steady after horrible week of ‘fool’s gold’ news stories

NBC polling: Trump approval steady after horrible week of ‘fool’s gold’ news stories “Trump’s about to be prosecuted. These revelations will either result in impeachment or guarantee that he loses in 2020. This time, we’ve really got him.” For the last week, this has been the message being delivered by virtually every prominent Democrat and NeverTrump Republican. No matter where you looked, you couldn’t help but read some variation of the same theme.

Uh-oh. CNN saddened to learn that most normal people don’t care much about Manafort and Cohen

Uh-oh. CNN saddened to learn that most normal people don't care much about Manafort and Cohen If you spend all your time watching, studying, and analyzing politics, it’s easy to start thinking that the stuff you care about is the stuff everyone cares about. That’s just a normal side effect of life in the political bubble. Whether you love Trump or hate him, it’s easy to assume the outrage you’re feeling is being experienced everywhere.

MSNBC: If we let teachers have guns, they’ll shoot the ‘black & brown’ kids

MSNBC: If we let teachers have guns, they’ll shoot the ‘black & brown’ kids Teachers. According to the left, they’re our greatest national treasure. Their efforts to enlighten the next generation of Americans are both selfless and tireless. They’re members of a time-honored tradition and, despite the low pay and long hours, give all they have to educate the planet’s future leaders. They deserve our gratitude, our respect, and much, much, more of our tax money.

DNC Chair Tom Perez runs away whens asked if he believes Keith Ellison assault allegations

DNC Chair Tom Perez runs away whens asked if he believes Keith Ellison assault allegations As you’re probably aware, former DNC Deputy Chair and soon-to-be former U.S. Representative Keith Ellison has been accused of both physically and emotionally abusing his ex-girlfriend. According to the accuser, there are video and audio recordings (as well as text messages) that will substantiate the claim, though they’ve refused to produce the evidence. Ellison has flatly denied the charge.

Sally Kohn attacks Fox News for covering the Tibbetts murder--in an epically bad take

Sally Kohn attacks Fox News for covering the Tibbetts murder--in an epically bad take Earlier, we discussed the fact that Elizabeth Warren views questions about the horrific murder of Mollie Tibbetts as a nice opportunity to promote her border agenda. That’s to be expected from someone like Warren but, you might wonder, how does the rest of the media view it? Well, they view it as no big deal. To them, it’s something we’re supposed to ignore, in favor of news about Donald Trump’s lawyer.

Elizabeth Warren is asked about Mollie Tibbetts – so she starts moaning about harsh treatment of illegals

Elizabeth Warren is asked about Mollie Tibbetts – so she starts moaning about harsh treatment of illegals, Murder and Illegal aliens No one is going to argue that our immigration system is perfect. Literally everyone agrees that it needs some kind of an overhaul. This disagreement comes when you ask what we should do. For some of us, the fix is a merit-based system, and end to lotteries and chain migration, and massively improved border security. For others, it means open borders, catch-and-release, and ‘the honor system.’

Finally: PETA frees animal crackers from the cages on their box--yes, really

Finally: PETA frees animal crackers from the cages on their box--yes, really Hardcore progressives do some ridiculous things. They wear ridiculous pink hats, they back ill-informed socialists in New York elections, they see bigotry where it doesn’t exist and ignore it where it does, and they get weepy over the Handmaid’s Tale while failing to mention the theocratic plight facing half the planet’s women.
