Why Is the State Department Covering for a Known Terror Group?

Why is the U.S. government covering for IHH, a Turkish “charity” organization with ties to terrorists? A State Department spokesman told Fox News that the IHH (Humanitarian Relief Foundation) has not been designated as a foreign terrorist organization. He added:
We are fully committed to taking appropriate action against foreign groups engaging in terrorist activity in order to prevent such groups from obtaining the resources and support needed to undertake terrorist activity.

Ehud Barak’s Theater of the Absurd

There was no need to endanger Israeli troops. How could Ehud Barak not see the looming disaster? Stopping a large Gaza-bound ship could have been carried out below the waterline, or by an assault on the bridge, using smoke bombs and tear gas to take control. Dropping individual soldiers into a mob of hostile people lacks reason.

Is there a Plan B

"No," says Robert Serry, UN special coordinator for the Middle East peace process, speaking recently at the Hebrew University's Truman Institute. "I don't know of any alternatives," he added. Nor does he seem interested in exploring other possibilities.

A blessing in disguise

If delusion is one of the most dangerous pitfalls of diplomacy, then, paradoxically, recent criticism of Israel by Vice President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is a blessing in disguise.

Party time for Israeli Left

What should we expect?

Declarations of virtual Palestinian statehood by asking the UN and international community for diplomatic recognition are a blunt way of avoiding the requirements for statehood. According to the Montevideo Convention this includes: "(a) a permanent population; (b) a defined territory; (c) government; and (d) capacity to enter into relations with the other state … The primary interest of states is the conservation of peace."

Stayin’ alive in Mideast

In the Middle East there are only friends and enemies, those on whom you can count, and those on whom you can't. Survival depends on knowing where people stand, and, like the shifting desert sands, and vagrant, unsteady winds, it's sometimes not easy to know.

Sobering lessons in Gaza

- Ynetnews.com Critics of Israel's invasion of the Gaza Strip ask, was it necessary? Civilian casualties were high, the IDF lost some fine soldiers, it cost billions, and Israel took a PR hit. Was the incursion worth it?

The ICRC’s war against Israel

For nearly four decades many in the international community have insisted that Jews are forbidden to live in Judea, Samaria and Gaza (Yesha), 'eastern Jerusalem,' and the Golan – areas conquered by Israel in 1967.
