In a perfect world there would be no political parties. The voters would care less about political affiliations, and vote for the candidate they felt best reflected their beliefs, and were most willing to follow the authorities granted by the Law of the Land. Polls would be trustworthy, and politicians would act as servants to the people, not rulers over them.

It has been no secret that we are having an educational crisis in the United States. Public schools are doing worse and worse, unable to compete with private schools, homeschooled children, and for that matter the rest of the world. Some suggest that this is on purpose. We are told the unemployment rate is working its way down to 8%. The real unemployment rate is well over 10%, and the U-6 is pushing 20%. In April the number of people not in the labor force rose by 522,000 from 87,897,000 to 88,419,000. This is the highest on record. Yet, despite that number, the unemployment rate dropped to 8.1% because the labor force participation rate dipped to a new 30 year low of 64.3%.

Statism Needs Division

Statism, American liberalism, communism, socialism, fascism, or any other authoritarian ism you can think of, is not popular on its face, so it must force its way into our lives, even using deception to make the people desire it. Crisis fuels the desire by the people for the government to "gain control" of everything. But in order for the ruling elite to be able to ride in on their prized stallion to save the day, their must be division, so that the liberal statist can claim they are hear to resolve that division. . .

Obama, Health Care, and the Nine Supreme Court Justices

The Constitution gives that authority to the federal courts nowhere within the text of the document. John Marshall's opinion inMarbury v. Madisonseized that power for the courts. However, the Supreme Court's opinion of a law, through the use of Judicial Review, is not a completely worthless thing, either. Constitutionally, the lower courts respect the opinions of the higher courts, and rule in accordance. In other words, if the Supreme Court rules Obamacare unconstitutional, it does not strike down the law, but it will neuter it as far as the courts are concerned.
