Candles in Thursday evening’s ‘Reclaim Jesus’ White House March Destined to Sputter Out A group of pious pastors are marching on the White House Thursday evening to “Reclaim Jesus from President Trump”. They will rally with lighted candles on White House grounds claiming that “America First is heresy against Christ.” But wait a minute, isn’t it the job of sincere, ordained pastors to bring souls to Jesus, rather than to go about reclaiming them?
Where is the heresy here? “A theological who’s who of Leftist Christian leaders are organizing a march on the White House to ‘Reclaim Jesus’ from President Donald Trump that is set for the evening of May 24. One of the leaders of the anti-Trump march is Rev. Michael Bruce Curry who ‘stole the show‘ with his lengthy sermon at the British royal wedding on Saturday between Prince Harry and American Meghan Markle.” (Gateway Pundit, May 20, 2018) But surely it was Meghan’s wedding gown, the pomp and splendor of the occasion, not the sermon of Rev. Michael Bruce Curry that had millions of television viewers tuning in worldwide.
“Three march organizers were spiritual advisors to President Barack Obama while one counseled President Bill Clinton during the Lewinsky scandal and later endorsed Hillary Clinton for president in 2016.” (Gateway Pundit) “The Reclaiming Jesus campaign is a response by Leftist Christians infuriated by President Trump’s continuing strong support from white evangelical Christians who overwhelmingly voted for (81 percent) in the 2016 presidential election.”
So is the ‘Reclaiming Jesus Campaign’ really about religion or hate-inspired politics? For those who will join leftists to claim that the Gateway Pundit’s expose is fake news, this is the description of the upcoming event direct from the Reclaiming Jesus Campaign’s own website:
“Thursday, May 24th, 7 p.m., National City Christian Church (5 Thomas Circle, Washington, DC 20005) "We believe two things are at stake: the soul of the nation, and the integrity of faith. We believe the issues are more deeply theological than merely political or partisan. We believe it is a time for prayer and response, for contemplation and action.  “In this moment of political, moral, and theological crisis in America we are deeply concerned about the resurgence of white nationalism, racism, and xenophobia; misogyny; attacks on immigrants, refugees, and the poor; the regular purveying of falsehoods and consistent lying by the nation’s highest leaders; and moves toward autocratic political leadership and authoritarian rule.  “We invite you to join us for a service of prayer and gospel proclamation, followed by a procession to the White House and a silent prayerful candlelight vigil as a witness that the church will not be complicit, but faithful.”
Meanwhile, can you spot your pastor’s name on this list of “endorsers” of the Reclaiming Jesus Campaign? If so, you may unwittingly be part of an organized religion that rather than saves souls for Jesus, reclaims Jesus from those who have already found him:

No pastor, no matter how self-important or social media-popular has the right to reclaim Jesus from anyone already sworn to Him, including the President of the United States—no matter how much they hate him. The candles they carry for their “silent prayerful” White House vigil are destined to flicker and sputter out in the wind. That’s because Jesus belongs to all who seek Him.
